Yes! Here a park is a place where they mow the grass and there is playground equipment, surrounded by uncut vegetation...(and no golfers...)! But people are highly adaptable and can convince themselves anything is good if they think that is what they want. Some thrive on a crowd, but to me a crowd is just a well behaved mob.

Smokin' Joe, are you a kindred spirit of mine? :) Our kids were raised in a park! Hundreds of miles of unspoiled wilderness, and their "playground" equipment were trees, gullys, streams and a rope tied to a tall tree limb. Yes, a crowd IS a well behaved mob, IMHO. To each his own, and I'm glad I own and live in God's country. We amuse ourselves with good books, walks in the woods without another soul in sight. Watching the northern lights, or that first long day of spring. Spending money is not our idea of a happy, family gathering. It's all about time together, laughs, and we make our own entertainment. :)

Yes! My back yard was not so big, but I had acres of woods and two farms, and a river to play in.

My grandchildren do not have it quite as well, but we live in a small town by American standards, even though 13000 is too big for me.

It is only a couple of miles to the nearest river. I would prefer to be out where I can target shoot off the front step, but that has not happened yet.

Three grand children live with us (long story, but we love having them--with us, too, family is first), so that may take some time.
