My liberal jewish friend told me about this today. I never knew Sandra Froman wsa jewish. It didn't matter to me, as long as she was qualified. It does help break the stereotype that all of us are liberal though.

I recall an intersting article by a jewish gun owner in Guns & Ammo of twenty or so years ago. He described this bizarre attitude of distaste for self-defense among so many american jews that they somehow tied into the "never again" attitude to the holocaust. How anyone can reason that is beyond my ken, especially as regards lefty Israelis where the wolf is literally at the door.

Exactly my thought, I think some of these left-wing Jews would march themselves to the oven or follow into the camps rather than own a weapon or organize a big fight.

I have to admit, I do not own or know how to use one. Living here on Long Island, I have had no exposure, perhaps I should learn.

Agree, Sandy Froman's religion was never a factor in her board service or her presidency. Her strong pro Second Amendment stance and vision to move the NRA forward in a positive direction was what got her elected. Her gender is a good asset. Her religion is her personal life and she doesn't broadcast it.

What many ignorant Jews in America don't understand is the fear of others wanting to kill them. They know the history but don't have the first hand fear of what it's like. Jews in Israel do and I wish many of these anti gun jews here in USA would go to Israel and see just how imporant it is to be armed. And not even the evil's of Hitler are enough to convince many left wing American Jews that guns help save lives.

Speaking of Jewish women stepping up to the home plate, at a website we are not allowed to post from, or link to, was quite a write up on Dr. Laura Schlessinger. Seems that last weekend she ponied up $30,000 to help out with ferry fees for transporting military and civilians, from ship to shore for the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76).

Of course Rabbi Yoffie didn't look too closely.

The biblical source for the obligation to defend oneself against an unprovoked attack is Exodus 22:1. Other English bible versions, the King James Version for example, number this verse as 22:2. There the bible states, "If a thief is found breaking in, and is killed, no liability (guilt) is incurred."
