Rush politely listened, and then congratulated him for understanding and backing the need for force.
The caller mentioned the draft twice. Given that the caller was in his 80's, I think Rush handled it just right when he focused on the things they agreed on, and ignored the part about the draft. I think it would have been different if the caller had been younger.

I heard the call. I think a large part of the callers purpose was to push the draft idea.
To bad Miller fell for this trap. Note only the Democrats what the draft as a political weapon to insure we lose the war in Iraq.

That's why Bush need to openly tell the public, that on such and such date, terrorists were trying to
,and it was stopped because of
,now it is time to do what is needed to end this danger. The public would surely support him.

These days winning wars comes second to making sure they're fought in a politically correct manner. We need to quit trying "pacification" - it didn't work in VietNam and it won't work in Iraq. Brute force is all they understand, so let's give it to them!

To bad Miller fell for this trap.Huh? It wasn't Zell Miller on the phone, if that's what you are thinking. I don't remember the callers name, but it definately wasn't Zell.

Sorry, I misunderstood your previous post.

His name was Frank. I said he was a Zell Miller Democrat since he cares about this country and wants to see us kick ass. That's rare for liberals. Like I said, there are fewer and fewer of them around. He was a breath of fresh air compared to the Michael Moore-Jihad Cindy Sheehan kooks around who hate their country and think it deserves to be punished for its real and imagined sins.

I'm for the draft and service to our country.
American started down when the draft went away.
The military service made men out of a lot of hellions.

We are in a war. That means, us or them, to the death. We defeated the Nazis by wiping them out. The same for Japanese militarism. The only way we can defeat our present foe is to utterly destroy islam! Sadly, our leadership, both Rep. and Dem. are not cognoscente of this.

The military service made men out of a lot of hellions.Very true.
The problem with the draft is that it has become about a 98% political issue. There is no way a Republican could institute a draft without the Rats raising hell for the next decade. The Republicans would pay a big price.
The draft was also a key reason why the Rats were able to defeat the Military in Vietnam.
It could be argued the draft cost 2 million Cambodians their lives.
