FReep of Code Pink's Quagmire at Walter Reed, Aug 19 (Heavy graphics, Join us Aug 26!)
DC Chapter ^ | August 22, 2005 | BillF

Posted on 08/22/2005 12:39:11 AM PDT by BillF

For the twelfth week in a row, FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond have outnumbered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Code Pink is truly stuck in a quagmire as FReepers severely hinder the Pinkos' cynical attempts to manipulate wounded soldiers and relatives in hopes of finding those who will join the anti-war movement and break faith with the troops still fighting a ruthless enemy. Many of the most severely wounded troops from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan are taken to Walter Reed for continued treatment and rehabilitation. The Pinkos other goal is too demoralize those wounded troops, but wounded troops have repeatedly thanked us for our presence as an antidote to the morale-sapping leftist antics.

Incredibly, Code Pink cannot muster enough people to achieve their desired fraud and deceit at their Walter Reed protest in the liberal bastion of Washington, DC, a city filled with left wing activists and where about 90 percent of the people voted against George Bush.

Do you think that the Pinkos are sickos to have an anti-war demonstration at a hospital holding war-wounded? Then please help us by showing up next Friday night per details below.  Stand up against the Pinkos who've endorsed the Iraqi resistance (see here and here), given money to the other side in Fallujah, and called our troops "killers." Then, the Pinkos demonstrate at the hospital and pretend that they support our troops.

This was Eighteenth Fabulous Fun FReep of the Code Pinkos as FReepers continue to frustrate the Pinkos' evil scheme.

As we have done on a number of these FReeps, we ate pizza on site at the FReep.

The honor roll of those in attendance:  Albion Wilde, Justanobody, lurker Joan, Landry Fan, Jimmy Valentine's brother, Doctor Raoul, beandog, Nina0113, Fraxinus, BufordP, bmwcyle, Apple Blossom, Our Man in Washington, Chick-with-a-brain, HOCWAB  (husband of Chick-with-a-brain) and their 2 daughters, lurker Bill, lurker Liz, and BillF.  We tied our attendance record of 20 patriots, but set a new record of 21 if you count Vega, the canine-American who came with Bill and Liz.

Click on another photo and its larger version should open in the same window that the first enlarged photo did. Note that some of the wider photos may open in a window wider than your screen and you can use a horizontal scroll bar to see parts.

Photos will be interspersed in the report. As it got progressively darker, my telephoto lens shots became less clear, requiring software enhancement. You will notice that people look more like cartoon characters in my later telephoto lens photos.]

Opposed to our twenty patriots, the Pinkos managed yet another anemic effort. They were no more than 8 in the first hour, but the Pinkos eventually peaked at 14.

Usual ritual of leftists illegally putting their banners on military property, the Walter Reed fence.

Side view of the leftists early with a strange circular glow on them.
It is either a special feature of the Halliburton-supplied camera or
an artifact, possibly caused by moisture (it had just rained and
a couple very tiny drops, barely noticeable, fell during the FReep)

There was a strange circular glow right around the leftists in the above right photo, which was NOT caused by any PhotoShop or similar editing.  It may just be an artifact in the photo, but I'm hoping that the Halliburton-supplied camera is supposed to generate a Rover-like device per The Prisoner TV series from way back. Rover was a vicious, balloon-looking, remote-controlled device that rendered people unconscious and transport them so that they could be kept in a prison village. Maybe, this Rover-like device could be called Hally (as in Halliburton) and could transport the leftists to GITMO. You can see the resemblance between Rover and Hally by comparing the above right photo to the photo of Number 6 (person on the ground) at the right. Hally just didn't quite form completely, didn't solidify fully on this night. Back to the drawing board.

When a bus of patients pulled back into Walter Reed after a night on the town, the interior light was turned on. The patients on our side of the bus waved appreciatively as we chanted "USA, USA." If the past pattern held, the patients on the leftists' side of the bus gave the leftists one-fingered salutes and other signs of contempt. Doctor Raoul, who was directly across from the leftists at that time, reported that the leftists' demeanor changed and they appeared quite discouraged right after the bus pulled in.

Squeegee guy at far left arrived late and did not play in traffic this night.

Many of the leftists show up late, after dark.  They think that the darkness prevents their images being processed by the Halliburton facial recognition software. They are wrong.

Vega was not a "right-wing attack dog."

When lurkers Liz and Bill showed up with their dog Vega, Jimmy Valentine's brother asked if that was a "right-wing attack dog," presumably referring to the one that we've requested from the Halliburton Special Ops Department for defensive purposes only. Vega was not an attack dog.

As an experiment, I told Vega the dog that the Pinkos had given $600K to "the other side" in Fallujah. No response. I said that they endorsed the Iraqi resistance. No response. I then told the dog that the Pinkos liked cats. Still, Vega was unmoved except for occasionally trying to get to our pizza.  Vega was too sweet to attack anything except pizza and the FReepers managed that attack themselves.

The highlight of the night was two Walter Reed patients coming over to thank us for being there. It is quite strange to have them thanking us. Of course, we thanked them repeatedly for their service and for the sacrifices they've made to keep us free. One of the soldiers lost an arm in combat, the other lost his right hand. He shook people's hands with a prosthetic hand (he was just there to get it checked out or tuned up).  He is headed back into combat, at his request. He wants to make sure that his kids find a better world when they are older.

There is a debt that we owe to those two soldiers and the other troops that we can never repay by words or deeds. Still, those soldiers and other troops have made it clear that we are making a difference by peacefully countering the Pinkos at Walter Reed. You too can make a difference. You can come this Friday per details below. What are you waiting for?

There was some chanting at the leftists, but the real interaction was as the leftists left shortly after their 9 pm quitting time. A couple of them walked by and asked "how much is Halliburton paying you?" Doctor Raoul referred to them as baby-killers, noting that Code Pink endorses "certain acts of desperation" (e.g., the intentional car-bombing of innocent Iraqi children) as just.

Then, as we were packing up to leave, two police cars pulled up. They said that someone (gee, I wonder who) had reported that we were harassing people, blocking the sidewalk, and standing in the street. We explained that we have strict rules against such conduct and that we had not done those things. The police just talked to us for a while and then left.

We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded soldiers at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. If you live in the DC area and haven't yet come out for one of these FReeps, please do so this next Friday. Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.

If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" is one of their commonly-used signs) demonstrations at the hospital. What about you? Can you spare a few hours on a Friday night?

Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you?

This FReep is rewarding, fun and important for our troops and our nation.

Too bad leftists don't know how to make a sign that can be read from a moving car. KISS (keep is simple stupid). Big letters, bold colors, etc.

DC Chapter is contemplating our options now as to whether we do a rally and a counter-protest, or simply do a counter-protest. We will do something ourselves or, at the very least, participate in someone else's event to counter the leftists.

(A counter-protest is easy and costs nothing except signs that people usually make themselves. You just show up at the periphery of the leftists, such as across the street, and chant or otherwise get out our contrary message.)

kristinn can better summarize the situation than I can because I left the Chapter meeting early last weekend. However, I think that the hope of at least some present at the meeting is to have a rally and a counter-protest, but there is a catch as to how we can finance the rally.

The catch is whether we get fianancial help from outside the Chapter. Otherwise, we would have to self-finance completely or nearly completely as we've done on 6 to 10 Support the Troops rallies since 2001 at great expense to the DC Chapter members. I'm not sure that we're willing to self-finance the majority of the costs.

First of all, extraordinary work you Freepers are doing in the DC area in general and Walter Reed specifically.

After several weeks of reading about this demonstration I finally can’t stand it any longer.

All I hear about is Freepers at this demonstration are you not getting support from any other group? Have you contacted anyone else?

I have had success with the YR’s , CCR’s , Calvary Church and VNVA. there are others but these groups are our best shot out here.

I avoid contacting VNVA unless I really need people since I feel that they have done more than enough.

Also I haven’t heard any of you guys (no gender) calling into any of the national talk shows. Have you called into any of them national or local? How about Rolling Thunder they are close to you I believe?

You guys cant be the only ones that are willing to show our support especially for the recovering wounded and their families.

I would be out there with you every week if I were within 100-150mi. Rather difficult from Orange Co, CA.

Our kids are 4 and 7 - the 4 year old has a tendency to run away so he will be the only problem. Unless something comes up we will be there - I will see if my brother wants to join us.

Thanks - hope to see you there.

Just let BillF know if you do not want your kids picture posted. Other than that they will love the pizza.

BillF,

Vega is an absolutely GORGEOUS dog. She looks like a total sweetpea. Is she yours?

To quote the governor of California: "Enough talk!"

This cr@p didn't end for Vietnam until Kent State, when protesters found out they were physically at risk if they tried to cause their country's defeat.

"The Pinkos other goal is too demoralize those wounded troops..."

This is absolutely the most despicable thing I have heard in a long, long time. I'm not sure if my tears are from anger at the pinko protesters, shame that they would do this to heroes that have given parts of themselves for us (even them), or pity for the soldiers. I'm proud and pleased that the wounded still have the grit to give them the finger. I won't say what I would like to give them, but it's the same thing you would give a rattle snake.

Vega is a wonderful dog, but it's the dog of lurkers Bill and Liz.

Here is my dog, a pound puppy rescued from death row (a high-kill animal shelter) and sent for two months of training by a prisoner. (The Animal Planet show Cell Dogs is about the program.) I would love to take my dog to a Friday FReep at WR, but she is such a squirrel chaser and rascal. She would be unlikely to sit still for the FReep.

Kent State increased the power and influence of the anti-war movement. The end of the draft diminished the anti-war movement.

I agree that there is too much talk, more specifically, people just posting on threads (NOT intended as a criticism of you, just a general observation). There should be more people coming out to peacefully counter the Pinkos. Maybe this story will help generate more people on our side http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1470084/posts

I was finally able to read "back pack" boys sign:
The Extreme Right Wing
* Slanders grieving mothers
* Shoots up peaceful vigils
* Runs over crosses
* How long before they start burning them again?

How ironic is it that David Duke supports their cause?

Now that's a pretty dog, too! She looks like she's got some beagle in her. I watched Cell Dogs. I don't know if you remember the HBO show, Oz, but in one of their last seasons, they had a plot line focusing on prisoners training dogs.

I've thought about bringing my girl, Ursa, to a Freep or two-- but like your pup, she's real high energy (she, too, is a sworn enemy of the squirrels) and would probably spazz out too much.
