Persian Gulf (Aug. 18, 2005) - The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, U.S. Air Force Gen. Richard B. Myers speaks with the Commanding Officer of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), Capt. Ted Branch on the flight deck during an air-power demonstration. The Nimitz Strike Group is currently on a regularly scheduled deployment and is participating in Maritime Security Operations (MSO). MSO set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations.
