The tribal areas aren't still safe havens. The ISI and Pak military has had success in those areas against Al Qaeda. BTW, the ISI has Taliban sympathizers, not really Al Qaeda sympathizers.

let's say OBL was in Iran and we found his location. we could bomb that place into oblivion to get him, with very little reprecussion.

If we find OBL's specific location, we would get him irregardless of whether he is in Pakistan or Iran. The thing of it is cooperation. It would be easier to search out OBL's exact location in a cooperative Pakistan than it would be in an uncooperative Iran.

Thanks, she's home right now on leave. We're going to our monthly American legion meeting for military families in this area on Tuesday, she's going to be the guest speaker. Of course, she's nervous, but it's really just an informal question and answer session for families.
