The L.A. Times will give anyone with a camcorder a platform as long as they produce a movie that attacks Christianity. I can almost guarantee if you produced a movie that proves the existence of Jesus they wouldn't give you the time of day!

You can be sure Jesus knows all about you, Brian Flemming.

The Passion was an "in your face" movie to Hollywood.

I'd like to see them disprove the existence of Mohammed. I wonder how long until their BLDG was bombed.

Flemming's latest project is just as likely to disturb conservative Christians.

So a documentary claiming the Christ is a myth would disturb ONLY conservative Christians? I would think that it would disturb ALL Christians. Leave it to the Christian and conservative hating media to come up with garbage like this.

I've never heard of Brian Flemming, and I've never heard of or seen his movies.

But I have heard of Jesus. Funny how those myths have a way of hanging around.

he said, he believed his teachers when they said that God created the world in six days and other Bible-based lessons. But those beliefs crumbled when he went to UC Irvine and began studying philosophy and science. ... What Flemming learned at a secular university convinced him that his fundamentalist teachers had "misrepresented what evolution was" and distorted other truths to bolster their Christian faith.

Yet another example of why it's a bad idea for fundamentalists to insist on a 6 day creation. I rejected God because some Christians eventually convinced me that I had to either accept a 6 day creation, or reject God. I rejected God.

Christianity needs to make peace with science, or this kind of thing will become the norm.

the former born-again Christian argues that the biblical Jesus never lived

sometimes the people who attack the Church the hardest are quitters. Reminds of the saying about a "woman scorned." They can get pretty catty. Anyone heard of that chick that was on Saturday Night Live taking her "God isn't there" show on the road?

In it, the former born-again Christian argues that the biblical Jesus never lived, but is a mythological figure like Paul Bunyan.

That's biblically impossible. He was never regenerated, or born again.

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

there is way too much non-bible corroboration that Jesus Christ did exist and was in fact crucified.

This "Jesus did not exist" is more along the lines of atheist, homo-rights, and communiste propaganda efforts.

They might as well claim George Washington did not exist.

Perhaps the left will deny Hitler existed and he was just a figment of the vast right wing conspiracy to discredit socialists. (ie democrats)

Does Dart still write for them? If so, I'm surprised he didn't save this for a traditional Easter or Christmas feature.

"I think that the idea that an individual could be the son of a god is already so ridiculous it doesn't need to be debunked."

A fool in his heart hath said there is no God, and as it follows there is no salvation for those who hold this view.

A well deserved and fitting end for fools!

First of all, the historian Josephus that was alive then wrote of Jesus and his followers. That is beyond historical doubt.

Secondly, his apostles and others who knew Christ endured incredible hardship, stoning, the worst imaginable torture, and never once denied Christ. They knew Him, and knew WHO He was!

They could not have endured to the end if Jesus was not God. Period. Knowing that Christ WAS God, on earth to fulfill His Word, the worst possible torture was nothing coming from mere men.

That's dumb. I'm an _atheist_ for crying out loud, but I have no doubts that a very important religious leader named Jesus (Joshua bar-Joseph) lived in the 1st century CE. Claiming he's a mythological figure like Paul Bunyan is just stupid.

Well he's right about one thing Jesus is not the "son of god"
..............He is "THE SON of GOD"
