He reminds me of something C.S. Lewis said. He said that when he was an atheist, he didn't believe God existed, but also that he was angry at God for not existing.
Apparently, Mr. Flemming was expecting more from allowing God the privilege of converting him than he ended up getting. Many (but by no means all) atheists have a grudge about the whole thing.
"So a documentary claiming the Christ is a myth would disturb ONLY conservative Christians? I would think that it would disturb ALL Christians."
To the left, conservative Christian is redundant. They don't think that those are two independent adjectives.
As for Flemming, I'm sure Jesus is getting a good laugh out of him.
sometimes the people who attack the Church the hardest are quitters. Reminds of the saying about a "woman scorned." They can get pretty catty. Anyone heard of that chick that was on Saturday Night Live taking her "God isn't there" show on the road?
The Brothers Grimm for sure. I've always been a huge Terry Gilliam fan!
That's biblically impossible. He was never regenerated, or born again.
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
-- 1 John 2:19
there is way too much non-bible corroboration that Jesus Christ did exist and was in fact crucified.
This "Jesus did not exist" is more along the lines of atheist, homo-rights, and communiste propaganda efforts.
They might as well claim George Washington did not exist.
Perhaps the left will deny Hitler existed and he was just a figment of the vast right wing conspiracy to discredit socialists. (ie democrats)
Do you see the Blessed Mother in there?
I think that's how Webster defines "oxymoron."
"Once you know Jesus...there ain't no going back!"
Read the article. He says he rejected God because he'd been told a pack of lies in a Christian fundamentalist school about evolution and a 6 day creation.
Science and evolution need not contradict one's faith. Do a google on Dr. Francis S. Collins the head of the Human Genome Project, and a serious Christian. He's a member of some associations of Christians involved in science, and has written on the subject of reconciling evolution and God.
The fact that you even seriously make the proposal reveals a lot about your grasp of the fundamental concepts involved.
A fool in his heart hath said there is no God, and as it follows there is no salvation for those who hold this view.
A well deserved and fitting end for fools!
The left is trying to find "atheist Christians" in order to rebuild their base.
Watch, democrap politicians will RUN not walk for this. I bet the DNC's in house Reverend, Wallis. Will give some appologist remark that give credence to this commie pablum.
Actually, there is very little evidence for Christs existence that's unquestioned. Some of the historical references to Christ are arguably deliberate later additions during translation.
I'm not an expert on the subject, but I did read a critique on several of the non-Biblical references to Christ and it wasn't pretty.
That being said, who's to say that Christ just wasn't a first century Marjoe or Jim Jones. He convinced 12 people to follow him, but in the end they all rejected him. Why? What did they leave out of the Gospels that caused them to reject him?
Secondly, his apostles and others who knew Christ endured incredible hardship, stoning, the worst imaginable torture, and never once denied Christ. They knew Him, and knew WHO He was!
They could not have endured to the end if Jesus was not God. Period. Knowing that Christ WAS God, on earth to fulfill His Word, the worst possible torture was nothing coming from mere men.
It was. Someone should have told them the real test is to wait two thousand years and then see if you still have millions of followers worldwide. Or asked them if they really thought that anyone would be fed to the lions sooner than denounce the Beatles.
When you start elevating yourself over Jesus Christ, who has been worshiped and followed by millions for thousands of years, you need to be brought down a few pegs.
And that's all that matters at the end of the day, eh? Truth is funny that way: It's not dependent upon anyone believing it. It simply is.
Gonna be a lot of forehead slapping going on on that dreadful day, people saying, "Oh man, why didn't I listen just one of the countless times I heard about Jesus?" So many people spend decades preparing for a twenty-year retirement, but don't spend five minutes earnestly pondering eternity. And while I do remember that mindset myself, the thought now of not having eternity taken care of would be terrifying to me.

there are notations regarding his "appearances" and even records in rome of the crucifiction. Pilot even filed a report to rome.
Discovery and History have played documentaries which were intentionally showing nonbiblical references.
Also there is the works of the deciples, there are also references to Paul in Corrinth. (only reason I know about Corrinth was that I saw it with my own eyes)
