Announcing the Fresno/Central Valley Chapter 4th Annual Rally and Tailgate Picnic Sept 9th and 10th, 2005

The Fresno/Central Valley Chapter cordially invites all FReepers in good standing to attend our 4th Annual Free Republic Rally and Tailgate Picnic to be held on Friday and Saturday, September 9th and 10th, 2005.

Our rally will begin at 5:00 pm and end at 7:00 pm on Friday night, at the corner of Blackstone and Shaw in Fresno. Afterwards, the group will gather for dinner and fellowship at a nearby restaurant (place to be announced).

Bring your flags, banners, signs, family and children. Prepare to support your country and enjoy the company of your good FReeper friends!

Our tailgate pot-luck picnic will be held this year at Kearney Park on Saturday, September 10th. We've reserved the "Tea House" picnic shelter for the full day. We'll probably start arriving about 1:00 or 2:00 pm and will BBQ and party till dark.

Kearney Park is located at 7160 W Kearney Blvd about six or seven miles west of downtown Fresno. You can get to the park by going west on highway 180 (Whites Bridge Rd to Grantland Ave then south to Kearney) or by taking the palm tree lined scenic Kearney Blvd from Fresno St (see map). There is a $4.00 entrance fee per car.

Note: The Kearney Mansion Museum will be open on Saturday for tours. See link.

Last year's thread: Tailgate Thread

Hope to see you all there!

Please RSVP by FReepmail to JustAmy or Mama_Bear

Thank you very much,

Jim Robinson
On behalf of the Fresno/Central Valley Chapter

Sorry, Fresno is a bit too far to go from Georgia.

Hmmmm .... looks like it will be just Jim, Sheila, Chris, MamaBear, jkphoto, PrissyMissy, Gracie1, patricia ruth and hubby and Enterprise at the picnic this year. We're going to get to eat LOTS of tri-tip, guys.

Where is everyone?

If you don't have other plans, we would love to see you at the picnic on the 10th.

:)

Might be able to get a ticket at a reasonable rate; the tri-tip and the company would make the trip worthwhile. :)

Thanks for the invite, Amy. I'll be working and studying at that time, as usual. Plus the airfare is a bit pricey. :-(

Hi! If I'm in town, I'd enjoy coming by. At the moment my tentative business plans call for me to leave town around the 7th, and be gone for up to a week.

Hmmmm .... hope you can change your plans and leave on the 12th.

We would enjoy meeting you and I think you would enjoy an afternoon at the park.

Hope to see you then.

Sorry Amy, I did reply with a yes earlier in the thread but it looks like it didn't post.

Jim and Sheila sure do get around. They will be back in time for the picnic, right? I bet if they are back then that means that Synco with be back also.

Do you want me to bring rice pilaf? Does the Tea House have an electrical outlet so that I can plug in my roaster oven?

To: notpoliticallycorewrecked

It has at least one electric outlet.

If it is okay, I will make a list of who is coming and then assign dishes to bring. I know there are no stores close so everyone will need to bring plenty of ice.

I think I knew that you were planning to be there; just didn't see anything.

See you the 9th and the 10th.
