Anderson, who is scheduled to make welcoming remarks to the conventioneers... Oh, Lord. THERE'S a CSpan moment I don't wanna miss!

I'm not sure why Rocky prospered in Salt Lake, which is supposedly so conservative. Pioneer Park is a total dump. Drugs and prostitution are everywhere. It's Salt Lake's red light district.

Thanks. I think it speaks more for Illinois vets than for all vets though. My dad is a Utah VFW member. He'd kick Durbin's ass if he got the chance.

To stand up against government misconduct is in no way expressing a lack of support for those who defend our country."Government misconduct would be lining up this piece of garbage againt a wall and shooting him.
One day, real soon, it may come to that.
Then the enemy within will have something to bitch about.

Parkin said such demonstrations, particularly against the Iraq war, give comfort to America's enemies and will be particularly offensive to the 13,000 to 14,000 veterans gathering at the convention.
I suggest they open the convention center doors when all hands are present, face the vets towards the protesters and then charge the SOBs!

Am I the only one, or is anyone else seeing a pattern starting to form here? An antiwar plan that started with cindy sheehan? Now the supposedly trickling of joiners?
Am I the only one who feels they are watching a pre-scripted dance of the libs?

Rocky? Is this part of the leftist pretense that they are somehow tough guys?

"There should be a collaboration of health-care-provision advocates, seniors, the [gay, lesbian and bisexual and transsexual] community, anti-Patriot Act advocates and other civil libertarians, anti-war folks, pro-Social Security advocates, environmental advocates, anti-nuclear-testing advocates, and anti-nuclear-waste-shipment-and-storage advocates," the mayor wrote in the e-mail. In other words, roll out the freakshow. It sounds like it's going to be Gay Pride Day, Senior Bingo Night, and smelly enrirowhackos all rolled into one. Yeah.

"Patriotism," the mayor said, "demands that people speak out when we see our government officials acting in such anti-democratic and deceitful ways to the people of our country."
Another of the left's favorite lies.

Maybe Mr. Bush should say what Mike Parkin said, "that son of a bitch!!"...I'll bet ol' Rocky would run for the hills if Bush unloaded on him. I kinda wish he would fight back a little better and let some of the DemoLibs have it between the eyes.

Considering how the liberals dealt with Bill Clinton's lies, which they fully acknowledged, they're hypocrites for being upset at Bush, even if it were proven that he lied about everything.
During the Krinton years, it was: "Yeah, he lied. So what? Everybody lies. It's what the big boys do to compete. It's okay to lie, cheat, and steal because everybody's doing it." And they subscribed to the unwritten mantra that it's okay to lie if it furthers liberal agendas. They asked for zero justification or explanation as to why U.S. forces bombed the Balkans for 73 days straight.
During the Bush years, it's: "Bush lied!!" while offering zero proof or any solutions as to how they would have done things differently. They require airtight, above-courtroom-level proof for GW and Congress to do anything. They claim that they support the troops while dumping on everything they do and constantly chant that the troops are poorly trained, unprofessional, and sadistic. Deposing a leader that has put, at current count, 600,000 of his citizens into mass graves, nerve-gassed 40,000 Kurds, and started a war with Iran that had over 1 million casualties due to chemical weapons is unethical and violates international law.

They're obviously opportunist and they've always been irrational. I suspect that they took up the "Bush lied" mantra because they know that honesty is important to us and they hoped to sway some support away from him. Like I said, they're irrational.
