Extremely minor...no biggie

That's what I was told after experiencing TIA's, however when one hasn't experienced it, it's no biggie.

I can't really stomach reading this thread, and I doubt anyone will actually read this reply (this is the kind of thread where many post, few read), but just for the record I have to say that anybody who is making light of this should crawl into a cave and die. Strokes are serious business, even minor ones, and the Lord says to love your enemies. Love, not spite. Best of health to you, Senator Reid, and may you make a speedy recovery with no lasting effects.

If there are any of you who simply can't put politics aside and wish a sick man well, consider this: should Reid become incapacitated, just who do you think would take his place as Democratic leader? I don't like Reid, I don't like his politics, I certainly would never vote for him, but he's far from the worst Senate Democrat. Do you want to see Minority Leader Schumer? Minority Leader Boxer? Minority Leader Byrd? Minority Leader Clinton?

Just a followup to previous post: if, however, something ill should befall Michael Moore, protocol will call for wild parties and celebration.

FR posters on the most part appreciate your heart felt conveyance and understand the true meaning of political discussion.

A little chill (perhaps on the rocks) and a lot of enjoyment with understanding sure can make for a content filled night at FR. : )

Sorry, your right to chill ends where my nose begins, or in this case, the nose of my political interests. I don't want the mainstream media to run stories like, "Conservatives laugh at Reid's stroke." I don't want to be associated with that crap, and I definitely don't want to see public opinion of conservatives decline because people on FR stupidly gave ammunition to the left wing.

I should like to point out that it WILL be Bush's fault.

Okay, the sun came up, we have a full moon, the tide is changing, the weather is hot, someone died today, he!! we are all going to die some day, oil prices are up, airline workers are going on strike, and to top it off whales are STILL beaching themselves and the Spotted Owl has met critical demise status.

Don't blame God, blame a politician who believes in God and that way living, breathing souls can be blamed for self gratification of those who lack direction via faith.

Talking to yourself and appreciating your interests certainly can't leave you with a sense of accomplishment when on a political forum can it?

Damn... Karl Rove gets Sheehan's mom AND Harry Reid to have strokes two days apart?

Not to mention Dan Rather's embarrasing exit, and Peter Jennings passing last week.

Hey, the guy is good.

There's the inconsistency - irresponsible rhetoric from a Harry Reid speaking from an office of presumed prestige and respect, and using that to more effectively mislead the public, is no more respectable (and to me, in view of that office, much less respectable and much more irresponsible) than whatever Michael Moore spouts on the outside.

So while I don't wish anybody physical problems, I don't owe Harry Reid any more prayers and/or respect than I would Michael Moore simply because Sen Reid lies from elected office rather than from the street.

This is why I am glad I belong to a forum like Free Republic.  People like you are asking for blessings for these individuals who don't exactly fit into our political views.  But does that matter at a moment like this?  No, it doesn't, and most people here are looking past that and acting like caring human beings.  I remember the same thing happening when Jennings died.

If this was President Bush or another republican, the libbie sites, like DU, would be holding a party and celebrating while calling for a national holiday.  And they wonder why they are quickly losing touch with the majority of Americans?  Well, here's the proof right here on this thread.

Oh Bullhockey. Good living, upright, decent, republicans have high blood pressure, strokes, cancer and all the ills of man.

I did not say the "only" cause....now did I?

Yet....it is a well established medical fact that consistent stress as in "the fight or flight response" can cause health problems....The activation of the sympathetic nervous system leads to the release of norepinephrine from nerve endings acting on the heart, blood vessels, respiratory centers, and other sites....but then...I guess your response "bullhockey" is a much more learned diagnosis.

Can't say I much care for the man's politics, but prayers for a speedy recovery nonetheless.

Reid only had "mini" stroke because he has a mini brain.

Harry Reid doesn't deserve anyone's prayers. He is a dirty lying corrupt politician. While wishing ill on him is something I'd never do, praying for him is taking it a bit too far.

As you get older, you will realize there is a differentce between passions and emotions and discover that praying for even a scumball is the best you can do. The Bible calls it "heaping hot coals upon their heads" when you treat them good despite how bad they act. Besides, enough prayers may get god to touch him in a way that tempers that which you find most vile about him. Even if God doesn't touch Mr. Reid's heart, perhaps your prayers will get Him to touch your heart and give you more peace in the midst of the storm.

God Bless

Was out of town yesterday...and this thread has over 330 replies.

Got down to the 1st dozen or so and see all the well wishers doing their standard "best wishes for a speedy recovery", "...prayers going out"....yada, yada, yada.

Oh Please!!! Spare me.

I don't wish him well.

I hope he retires and/or dies. Whatever.

..and when he gets to the gates of hell, he can see just how far off he was in comparing President Bush to Adolph Hitler.
