Big bang near Crocker Galleria in SF, Post St. closed down, smell of gunpowder.
I've got an idear. Get. Over. It.
hmmmm...that's like saying a Muslim doesn't explode when the bomb strapped to his body detonates.
The muslim doesnt explode. The bomb explodes. The muslim is exploded.
The source of the explosion is not known at this time but a structure is on fire and one person is reported to have been injured. Initial reports indicate a woman was transported to the St. Francis Hospital Burn Center.
San Francisco police report the evacuation of several buildings in the area, including the Crocker Galleria. Foot and car traffic has been cleared from the area.
One occupant of the Crocker Galleria building, whose office is on the 8th floor, said that he felt the explosion's impact but sensed it was not an earthquake.
"We felt and heard a big explosion," said Curtis Smith, who was on the 24th floor of the Crocker Galleria building. "It stopped the work everyone was doing at this time."
Portions of Sutter, Montgomery, Kearny and Post streets have been closed while investigators proceed through the area.
The Ralph Lauren store at 90 Post Street was damaged. The store's awning was engulfed in flames, according to eyewitnesses.
The explosion also dislodged a manhole cover and buckled a section of sidewalk. There is broken glass and debris strewn on the sidewalk.
PG&E has dispatched a crew to investigate a possible underground explosion.

WEST NEW YORK - An explosion was accompanied by a power outage and followed by the wail of sirens and the buzz of TV news helicopters yesterday evening as town residents worried that a terrorist attack might be underway.
The cause wasn't a bomb, but a faulty underground power circuit that overheated and ignited sewer gas, causing an explosion that blew three manhole covers out of the street and injured at least five people, town officials said. "

May the Good Lord take a likin' to ya' and blow ya' up real soon!
Don't be so sure. I think San Fran has some ordnance that says any event involving city property must be labeled with signs in English, Spanish, Braille and broadcast aurally by a narrator reading with a pronounced lisp and whiny feminine tone.
Those were two very, very unlucky people on that elevator.
How very strange. You post a three year old photo of someone in NY, and you add the above title.
I NOMINATE THIS AS THE POST OF THE THREAD!!
ROFLMAO!!!!
Manhole caught on film
maybe it was Dirty Harry's car?
Fox News's talking about it again now.
Yup, big difference.
