No, dead is pointing out that the manhole (at least in the NYC explosions) remains perfectly intact after the explosion.

Just saw a picture of the sidewalk damage - AMAZING - it is way buckled.
Part of the investigation includes bomb sniffing dogs.

You have a link for the photos?
To: Perdogg
The sex of the hole that was blown is still undetermined. Apparently something in the hole blew up and that caused the sidewalk to raise 12"....or so they say. I bet it was closer to 4".

I'm watching it on TV - sorry.
A FD briefing is going to take place veryu soon.
The sidewalk looks like a perfect square of cement that has popped out.

Would it make y'all feel better if the description was changed to "erupting" manhole covers?

not dopey at all, that was my exact feeling as I read these post Thanks.
>>The source of the explosion is not known at this time but a structure is on fire and one person is reported to have been injured. Initial reports indicate a woman was transported to the St. Francis Hospital Burn Center.<<
My only point was you'd think others would at least hold off with the cute one liners until it was found no one was injured or killed.
I had the unfortunate job of having to visit a burn ward about 8 months ago to speak with a burn victim. Hopefully, I'll never have to go back to a place like that. Words can't describe it.

but still hundreds of people watching from a block or so away People are generally stupid. If there is an explosion in my vicinity I would be so out of the area ASAP.

I just saw a Fox News Alert about it. Explosion and fire at a Ralph Lauren store.

Can't be terrorist! Unless that was their way to pull the media to the scene, for the real show.

US Senator Diane Feinstein's SF office is across the street and I believe she parks her limo below the Crocker Galleria but I think this was just a gas main accident.

It's two blocks from me...didn't hear a thing. There are no buildings on fire. A Ralph Lauren store apparently suffered minor damage when the manhole cover hit it.

"Turned on FNC and there was Amber Frey discussing you know who."
Well, they finally just reported on the explosion, but they quickly shifted away to report on the girl who was killed by a pet tiger. Priorities priorities. I'm sure we'll be treated shortly to an interview with Sigmund or Roy.
