It's incredible how God has worked in our lives.
Last night I had a long conversation with my brother in Florida.
He has been sober for 3 years, he ran into a rough time recently
I won't get into details but just as he was about to lose it and hit the bottle again
he dropped to his knees and Prayed for guidence and help.
within 2 weeks, all the major problems were taken care of.
He found a job, got his license reinstated, registered and insured his car,
he is legal again for the first time in years.
He is secure in his little home, and secure in his faith and trust in God.
I am proud of my little brother, God Bless him as he finds his path in life.
Oh, to update you on a couple points, I have been sooooo busy.
My foot is better, swelling down for a while but is still painful.
I have yet been able to just rest it, I have worked everyday on it since it happened.
House is coming along well, the drywallers started today and will be done tomorrow (Sat)
Should be sanded and finished by mid to end of week.
Not bad seeing that I started this project by myself about 4 weeks ago.
I will have it ready for them to move in ontime, just 2 weeks to go.
Then comes the primary Sept 13th
My interview Tuesday was rescheduled for a week or two.
Thursdays event with FreeBuffalo went well, I was a special guest
and was introduced to the crowd and got a great ovation.
Tonight we had a fundraiser, I met a few new people and
they are excited about my plans for Erie County.
Just so tough getting people to come out.
I will have one more quick type of event on Grand Island
the last two were in two towns in my district.
When I get the chance to talk to people I secure another vote
They find out I am for real and not a run of the mill tell you
what you want to hear type politician.
They see the honesty and commitment I have.
First debate is scheduled for Sept 7th, I am looking forward to that!
I hope the television cameras are there, my opponents will freeze.
I on the otherhand love the camera.. : )
Love it only to the point that my face and statement gets out there.
People tell me, hey I saw you on the news. It's cool.
A beautiful pic of your Nana, Miss Aqua ... a very classy lady.
Whatta fine name, Mary Broderick ... )
all.. Dan Lacey (faithmouse) created this for us...
Thanks Dan!!!! so sweet of you!
I was still awake at that time, just laying in bed.
I guess lots on my mind too. I can see why politicans make deals to get money for their campaigns.
Dan, I have always loved your work. Thank you, I love the little angel.
Coffee coming right up.
How can people who experienced the same event have radically different recollections of what happened? An Associated Press article summarized the results of dozens of studies on human memory: "Far from being an indelible recording, human memory is fragile, incomplete, malleable and highly subject to suggestion." Memories can change with time. In some cases, people may slightly alter their version of an event with each retelling, much like a fisherman's exaggerated account of "the one that got away." But an objective, factual record can correct the mental wanderings to which we're all susceptible. Peter wrote two letters to give us an accurate, enduring record of God's truth. "I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth. . . . Moreover I will be careful to ensure that you always have a reminder of these things" (2 Peter 1:12,15). Our fragile memories need constant refreshing through the unchanging record of God's Word, the Bible. Through this reliable reminder, we can guard our thinking against the subtle drift toward a merely human perspective on life. Throughout the Bible, the Lord's purpose is to stir up our minds so that we don't forget His truth. David McCasland
Of what is wrong or right, And test what seems so real to me Of feelings, sense, and sight. D. De Haan The best way to renew our minds is to read God's Word daily.

Aging (not for you silly, pass it on to OLD folks!)
I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape, so I got my doctor's permission to join a fitness club and start exercising. I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors. I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour. But, by the time I got my leotards on, the class was over.

Reporters interviewing a 104-year-old woman: "And what do you think is the best thing about being 104?" the reporter asked. She simply replied, "No peer pressure."

The nice thing about being senile is you can hide your own Easter eggs.

Just before the funeral services, the undertaker came up to the very elderly widow and asked, "How old was your husband?"
"98," she replied. "Two years older than me." "So you're 96," the undertaker commented. She responded, "Hardly worth going home, is it?

I've sure gotten old. I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement, new knees. Fought prostate cancer and diabetes. I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine, take 40 different medications that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. Have bouts with dementia. Have poor circulation; hardly feel my hands and feet anymore. Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92. Have lost all my friends. But, thank God, I still have my driver's license.

A 97-year-old man goes into his doctor's office and says, "Doc, I want my sex drive lowered." "Sir," replied the doctor, "you're 97 Don't you think your sex drive is all in your head?" "You're darned right it is!" replied the old man. "That's why I want it lowered!"

An elderly woman decided to prepare her will and told her preacher she had two final requests. First, she wanted to be cremated, and second, she wanted her ashes scattered over Wal-Mart. "Wal-Mart?" the preacher exclaimed. "Why Wal-Mart?" "Then I'll be sure my daughters visit me twice a week."

I'm getting into swing dancing. Not on purpose. Some parts of my body are just prone to swinging.

It's scary when you start making the same noises as your coffeemaker.

These days about half the stuff in my shopping cart says, "For fast relief."

I've tried to find a suitable exercise video for women my age, but they haven't made one called "Buns of Putty."

Don't let aging get you down. It's too hard to get back up.

THE SENILITY PRAYER
Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.
Thank you, Mayor, for your daily lesson in God's word--in that way you are helping us to never forget Whose we are!
God bless you--hope you had a good week.....and that your weekend will be restful.
Thanks JW. She married a man named Joseph, did you catch that? :)
Sending you something I came across via Freep Mail in a few minutes...
As for the political picture, I am absolutely certain that anyone seeing you in person and hearing your message is impressed by your grasp of the problems, the solutions you propose, and your sincerity and honesty.
Knowing you 4+ years, I know you are capable of accomplishing truly great things, and had I the means, would pour out buckets of bucks to back you...however, I have always and will continue to pour buckets of prayers forth for you and Jul..:))
Seeing your beautiful testimony about your brother, it highlights well the Power of Prayer!! Of yours on his behalf - and his reaching out to God in a desperate moment.
Thank you for relating it to encourage readers.
Your Daily Bread Ministry has positively affected countless ones of here at The Finest, and we so appreciate the offerings served, giving us no excuse for not being in The Word daily, and that prompt us to take time for further contemplation of the message.
Keep marching on, Christian Soldier...in His Name.
Love 'n hugs,

You found me out, Lady!
Getting away from Billie's cooking has done wonders for my appetite. :-)
What a relief to have you turn up, Thinny - and with your wonderful sense of humor intact!!
You truly have been missed, as has been your knack for keeping us all on the straight and narrow...
Wonder if Miss Billie will bake you a cake!!!
[it prolly would resemble this, though.. ]
Might I persuade you to chow down on these 'Lite Bites' so you will be sufficiently fortified to be able to resist having to eat a piece of that cake?
*You* are so sweet, my beautiful Maggie. : )
Wolfie loves ((((Maggie))))
Hi, Victoria - I left yesterday about the time that you arrived, I think.
Has your school started yet?
Am going to save her idea for later and go ahead with the one that was going around in my head yesterday.
From what I'm picking up from your posts to each other, yours will require a lot more research than what I'm doing - actually more than the idea Maggie had for me, too. :) I will look forward to seeing what the two of you put together. Know it will be thorough, and classy.
That works both ways! I'll take it and just smile all over. :)
Those are the cutest kitties! Poor goldfish, though. :(
