The former intelligence officer who says that a Defense Department program identified Mohamed Atta and three other hijackers before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks said yesterday that many of his allegations are not based on his memory but on the recollections of others.
Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, who has been on paid administrative leave from the Defense Intelligence Agency since his security clearance was suspended in March 2004, said in a telephone interview that a Navy officer and a civilian official affiliated with the Able Danger program told him after the attacks that Atta and other hijackers had been included on a chart more than a year earlier.
But because he was not intimately familiar with the names and photographs of suspected terrorists, he did not realize that hijackers were listed until it was alleged to him after the attacks, Shaffer said. All of the charts that could support his claims have disappeared, he said.

Catherine Herridge reported in her first story about this that he had had his clearance suspended (over some phone incident), then reestablished, and he was promoted afterwards.
Gorelick - one of those responsible for Atta getting way with it - is now a partner at Wilmer Cutler et al

The investigation cost about 400,000.00.
Normal bureaucratic efficiency.
BTW he was willing to pay.
I suspect current DoD and White House will also try to discredit him.
The wagons are circled.
The U.S. Govt. enabled the death of 3,000, and will do what it can to avoid accountability.
Gorelick was a Clintoon butt lick. She and Les Aspin--you will remember him--had their hands all over Bill's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" business also. She and the Clinton's are totally in bed together--either one or both of them most likely.
Hey, who made you so smart?! ;)
I enjoyed your take on things...hope much of what you said comes to pass.
Yes this is very odd
well now it's out that 'Capt Phillpott' already testified to the 9/11 Comm. that Atta was on the Able Danger chart... so this means this WAS told to them but they decided not to include it. Now they will have to take them seriously.
Locked your keys in your car ???? Did you know this??
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone on your (or someone else's) cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the other person at your home press the unlock button of your key fob (clicker), holding it near the phone on their end.
Your car doors will unlock.
Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you.
Distance is no object you could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk!).

Given that he's begun the process of wrecking his own story, I'd say his cat has already been kidnapped.
The rug is lifted; the broom is poised.
I think this story has more behind it. I'm going to be patient. Right now, there are a lot of people who would be willing to do anything to discredit or shut this guy up.
First, don't trust the press. They're going to try the old trick of confusion. It took years for people to find out Clinton was guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice. Most thought his impeachment was about sex because of all the spin going on at the time. Once the chaos died down, the word got out.
This needs to be taken slowly. One step at a time. We have to try to avoid the leftists trick of confusion or "muddying" the waters.
"And taken to Fort Marcy Park..."
Stuffed in an oven mitten.
" But he said he is relying on the word of Phillpott and the civilian employee, who pointed to one of the charts and said, "We had them."
I'm sure Hillary will go to the floor of the Senate and wave around this article, screeching " We had them."
Like she did with the false NY Post headline that Bush Knew.
