UPDATE-- SUPPORT THE TROOPS RALLY IN CRAWFORD

Edited on 08/19/2005 6:44:39 PM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

Here's the latest concerning the Support the Troops Rally in Crawford on Saturday, August 27th. Move America Forward will be joining us in our permitted space. We have invited them to furnish a few speakers for the program.

We still plan to be at Walmart in Waco by 11 AM to await the arrival of the Caravan which will have started out in California. We will then fall in behind them and become part of the caravan.

Please decorate your cars in the colors--and if you have something that shows support to one of the services, try to display that so that it can been seen.

Starting out with the caravan in California will be a man we all know and love! His name is Jim Robinson, and he, along with his lovely wife Shelia, will join us for this event. Freeper Syncro has graciously offered to drive them here.

Please be thinking hard about the signs you want to display. Try to make them a clear message to our fighting men and women that we support them, our President, and their mission. Also, please bring as many American flags and service flags as possible.

Our permitted space is at the Civic Center and both sides of the football stadium. This is located on East 4th Street, across the tracks from the main street in Crawford. This is located about 4 miles from the other camp.

Please keep in mind that the townspeople of Crawford have grown very weary of this circus. Let's don't add to their woes. Please do not park alongside these very narrow dirt roads that surround the President's Ranch and where the anti-American bunch is hanging out. Try to cause as little traffic congestion and interruption to Crawfordians as possible.

Also, cell phone coverage is extremely spotty in and around Crawford. We are going to try to augment communication between each other with walkie-talkies. We will set the frequency when we meet--we will not publish it here. If you have a pair of these, you might want to bring them with you.

I still plan to be at our permitted space by 9AM, and hope some of y'all will join me there, because we will need to set up.

Stay tuned to this station for updates as more information comes in.

I just got this wonderful information from a friend who lives very near Crawford:

Turn left on to Road 185 (there will be a small sign indicating a left turn to Crawford)

Drive about 4-1/3 miles to the light at Highway 6, and keep going straight

You'll pass by the *Rusty Star (wonderful BBQ)

Drive almost 8 miles, passing the DOT sign that warns to slow down because there will be heavy traffic ahead, and the Crawford City Limit sign

Veer to the right on Jewell Patton Drive and drive 1/2 mile to the Crawford Community Center (which I have been calling the Crawford Civic Center.)

If you want to visit downtown Crawford after the Rally, continue on Jewell Patton Road (which is now 4th St.) to Lone Star Parkway and turn left.

"The Coffee Shop" is on that street, along with "The Yellow Rose" and antique shops.

Crawford is having a football game this weekend.
There will be a lot of families around, and a lot of cars. Watch your driving.
Have a great time. Thank you for your patronage, too.

My Letter to Ms. Sheehan

MS. Sheehan I understand your grief over the loss of your son.

I see how your grief might be turned into hatred for the Commander and Chief who ordered him there, however indirectly.

I also agree that this war could have been avoided, at least for awhile, after all, any war can.

Where I have problems with your statements are only where I feel you do not understand, and in fact degrade, your son's sacrifice, and make no mistake it was a sacrifice.

Your son, like many others of his compatriots, volunteered to defend this country against all enemies foreign or domestic, not the enemies that the President so designates, not enemies that a Congress designates, but the enemies of the American people, enforced by our dully elected representatives.

It was not a President whom allowed this war to proceed, but a vote of the dully elected representatives of this great Nation, the Congress, twice.

If we are not bound by our elected representatives, then what kind of country our we living in.

If our fighting forces do not follow a civilian elected government (The Congress, not just the Presidency, whom some think may not have been properly elected), then what type of government do we live under.

If a minority of our dully elected officials can control the direction of our government, no matter how vehement their opposition, than I submit to you we do not live in a country that our forefathers envisioned and indeed your son would have lived or died for not.

I served for 10 years under a Commander and Chief whom I felt did not best represent the ideals of our country, but I would have given my life on his and the elected Representative Government’s orders had it been given.

My parents both disagreed with the Commander and Chief at the time that I served, but I would have EXPECTED them to have treated my death with the honor it disserved, to have said that I died serving honorably for my country, and not have tried to dishonor my death with feigned righteous indignation at a President whom I served under, with honor.

Sitting here thinking about this, I'm a little worried about security.

If the moonbats know Jim will be there, will they show up in droves for the sole purpose of yelling at him?
