Temple man at odds with Crawford protest
Temple Daily Telegram ^ | August 18,2005 | Larry Causey

Posted on 08/18/2005 6:37:42 PM PDT by texjan

Gary Qualls, 48, of Temple on Wednesday removed a cross bearing the name of his son, Louis Wayne Qualls, from the roadside memorial of the anti-war demonstrators near President Bush’s Crawford ranch. “They have the right to protest,” he said of the followers of Cindy Sheehan. “But they are not there for a just cause.” Sheehan has gained a lot of attention for saying that she wanted to speak to President Bush, even though published reports said Bush met with Sheehan two months after her son Casey was killed in Iraq. Qualls said he has given several media interviews, including one with CNN. Today he is supposed to go back to Crawford for a CNN television conference that he said would be broadcast worldwide. “I’m just trying to support our troops,” he said. “Our sons and daughters are true fallen heroes and their names do not need to be used in any personal vendettas.” His son, a Marine lance corporal, died last year in Fallujah while protecting his convoy during an ambush. Qualls is himself a military veteran, and participated in the evacuation of Saigon when the United States withdrew from Vietnam. “I’m standing up for my son,” he said. “For all soldiers of the military services, all fallen heroes and President Bush.”

Odds are CNN doesn't air his interview... Or if they do, they swamp it in there with Sheehan supporters.

Notice how they make it sound as if their is doubt the meeting took place, the published reports remark. The MSM are truely slimy and low life.

Yes they are slimy... consider if they reported it this way ...

"Sheehan has gained a lot of attention for saying that she wanted to speak to President Bush, even though Bush met with Sheehan two months after published reports said her son Casey was killed in Iraq."

You are right. They are trying to turn facts into non-facts with indirection.

I heard a caller on Rush today....he went down to Crawford to check things out, sort of like a fly on the wall.

He said milling around the protestors he did not hear a lot of "we need to do this for cindy and that for cindy" rather "we need to do this and that to get democrats elected".

He then went on to say a mother and sister showed up and went to take down the cross which bore the name of theie son/brother. They were quickly surrounded by people who screamed "your son died in vane"...

He also said the protestors tried to antagonize the Bush supporters on hand by constantly sending a ten-year old over with messages...

Can never be said enough.

MOVEON hired a PR firm to stage manage this "protest" Cindy Sheean is just the sock puppet propaganda face being put on this political street theater. This has nothing to do with grief.

I have read news articles about three separate families. Of course, these families will never be mentioned widely than by the local news.

God Bless him. A lot of folks on the left try to say that Cindy Sheehan and the Veterans for Peace aren't trying to speak for other parents. If that were true they wouldn't be trying to use the names of all of our fallen troops or be protesting to bring them all home now.

They are trying to speak for all families and they don't speak for me either.

Yelling into the very faces of the parents of the soldiers who died that "Your sons and daughetrs died in vain!" ??!! That is among the most vile and despciable acts I can think of, short of murder, rape and mayhem. Its one thing to yell it to a crowd of the general public or in front of cameras. But to do so right to the parents, themselves? -- That is plain junkyard trash mean.

“Our sons and daughters are true fallen heroes and their names do not need to be used in any personal vendettas.”

That pretty much sums up how I feel about our military.

How dare she use the names of other people's sons and daughters in her little mascarade!

Fregards,
Mrs

Or if they would report the facts.

Sheean, who's son Casey was killed in combat on April 4th, 2004 (and who met with President Bush in July 2004), has organized her protest in conjunction with several left wing political action groups, most notable Democrat Party political action group Moveon.org.

I'm surprised no one's gone down there to tape it...the way Protest Warrior does during the marches...

Someone needs to get themselves a pinhole cam, bite the bullet and buy a liberal shirt, and show up at the peace house to volunteer. That would put an end to the Cindy show.
