Who's testing positive for steroids now...(3 More MLB Positives 2 in AL, One in NL for 'The Rocket?
The Reds Reporter ^ | 8/18/05

This reporter is hearing about 2 more positive steroid tests, two in the American League and one in the National League.

The story was confirmed by multiple sources inside Major Leage Baseball who say that the Roger 'The Rocket' Clemens is in the process of appealing the decision. (of a 10 game automatic suspension for steriods for the future Hall of Famer )

Take it with a grain of salt but it wouldn't suprise me in the least if this comes out in the next few days.

I believe this pending announcement could be the one that 'brings baseball to its knees.'

Something wrong with a 43 year old pitcher who has a 1.43 ERA and a .255 slugging average

I read something about this on another sports discussion board earlier today. The rumor said that one of the other ones was a certain centerfielder for Boston (Johnny Damon).

Mike Schmidt was my baseball hero back in the day. I wonder what his stats may have been if he could have been on the juice. I consider all the records from the last ten or so years to be tainted.

I couldn't care less about guys who throw balls around, but I think a congressional investigation is a good thing. Any time they spend on useless crap is time they are not spending dreaming up new taxes and spending.

Rep. Tom Davis (R) will call for more hearings.

Meanwhile he supports the DC gun ban and thinks DC should have vote in Congress.

I consider steroids baseball to be a different game entirely, and it's not one I enjoy at all. Thus baseball has gone the way of hockey on my used-to-but-don't-now follow.

It's a topsy turvy world when the cleanest major sport in the USA is football.

Damon and the Rocket would be huge. It would confirm to the public that this is not just an isolated incident...

How do you know Schmidt wasn't "on the juice"? I saw him up close a few times.. he was pretty "bulky". Roids have been around a very long time....

I actually think that there have been MORE pitchers on the juice than hitters...

That said, the Rocket has had some back problems since at least mid-June and maybe earlier than that...

we will see what happens....

Things are beginning to look suspicious in the opposite direction as far as I can tell.

People who wouldn't need steroids are getting caught. People who Clearly know better and who _clearly_ know they can't get away with it any more.

It just sounds fishy to me.

that's the problem. The MLB has been so WRONG in the testing policy for steroids, i.e. they didnt have one, that pretty much anyone that DIDN'T piss hot in this new policy (which still looks like swiss cheese to me) is more or less in the clear.

Now we can look at the character of each and every player and make a guess, but that is all it is. That said, I don't think Schmidt did any steroids.

Let the MLB take care of it themselves. We dont need grandstanding politicians who ignore more pressing issues....

If MLB was really serious about not having players use steroids, they would test every player every 2 months. It would end.
