The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) has been busy for 10 years ... creating gay student groups at hundreds of high schools and passing laws or regulations that limit or eliminate harassment aimed at homosexuals....The organization has also used part of its $4.3 million budget to promote a reading list for students as young as those in kindergarten....
At the high school level, some of this indoctrination might be excused on the grounds that students are old enough to make personal choices and maybe some of them can define terms like "sexuality" and "gender."
No such excuse can be made for this kind of social indoctrination at the elementary level.
The very idea that GLSEN and other groups are busy offering "educational resources" or training programs to elementary school teachers in order to create a more "affirming environment" for gay students is appalling....

It has to do with the fact that peoples with agendas go into education because they have learned the lesson that the Jesuits learn long ago, that if one has control of the youth, especially the best and brightest among the youth, then one can control public opinion. Even people who hated the public schools somehow accept the agenda of the educational establishment.

Very true, RobbyS. Two other facts related to that: first, the lawyers arguing Brown v. Board of Education argued for integration to begin in the schools. I was entirely in favor of that, but it became extreme with the busing orders and many other excesses that, IMHO, led to the overpowerful courts we have today. (Roe followed Brown by a few years and it was all downhill from there).
Secondly, persons who wish to abuse children sexually gravitate to jobs that throw them into contact with children. It's sad, it's sick, but it's a fact. That's why parents have to be very vigilant and not take anyone who has contact with their children for granted.

There is a difference between a person of the 19th century who engaged in homosexual conduct but understood that society thought it to be wrong and today's activists, who insist that the adoption or partial insemination of half of a "couple" is as good as the real thing. Doubtless there were many homosexual-acting persons in history who made contributions from which we all benefit. But that's still a world of difference from social approval of gay marriage and parenting.
Unfortunately, many innocent teachers are tarred because the schools are no longer as slective as the once were. Inevitable, I guess, when they must choose among persons whose background is unknown to them.
You are correct; and no offense to the vast majority of teachers, priests, coaches, etc.
Our mainline Protestant church recently (4 years ago) began doing background checks even on Sunday School and youth group volunteers. It's a sad state of affairs, but it's necessary.

My thoughts are why can't we have kids have a childhood first before we hit them with how serious life can be. If we teach AIDS at the youngest grades then soon it will be sex ed at those grades as well.
I believe it's just another attempt by liberals to corrupt the youth. This could be another way of destroying marriage.....get the youths to think about marriage as between 2 people and not between a man and a woman.
They should be charged with several felonies, including corruption of, and distributing obscenity to minors.
What the feds should be doing, is telling the DOJ to start prosecuting GLSEN.

It is progressive in the sense that marxism is progressive: bad ideas that no amount of evidence can refute except total disaster. Even this does not discourage its devotees. They teach the next generation to make the same mistakes.
