A Rice-Allen Ticket in '08?

What about a Rice-Allen Ticket in 2008?

You heard it here first!

Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice has great name recognition, solid foreign policy credentials, and a brilliant mind. Former Virginia Governor and current Senator George Allen has a solid conservative foundation, a friendly outgoing personality, and plenty of leadership experience. Rice would strip a lot of black and women's votes from the Democrat ticket; Allen would pull in the conservatives. This is a ticket that could beat Hillary Clinton. This is a ticket that would keep the Democrats out of the White House for eight years with Rice as President, then another eight as Allen ran to replace her. The added benefit is that HRC would be out of serious politics permanently.

Early indications are that Republicans would support Rice.

It there is a chance they will get together, my guess is that it is more likely to be Allen-Rice. I would support that ticket and I think it could win the general election.

I believe that in an Allen-Rice admin, Rice could be in a position, and could have the time, to help Mehlman expand the GOP in the black communities. Of course, in true political fashion we know that would also be coordinated with domestic policy - where's the admin throwing the fed $$.

Allen would be offering RICE as Vice Presidential material, able to assume the POTUS role, due to her National Security and diplomatic experience. I think it would also blunt some RINOs who might otherwise have offered weak support to conservative Allen.

If Allen could enter the primaries with Rice already known to be his VP pick, then Rice's profile would help put Allen over the media edge held by McCain. Is that possible?

It would be great if GWB, Mehlman, Rice and Allen could get togther and make early agreement on it. Like late 2007.

Gingrich cheated on his wife. I don't think we need yet another character in Washington who doesn't respect the most sacred vows a man can take.

PC Off....How many votes would a black female VP cause to disappear?

PC On....What a nifty idea!!!! It reminds me of a great Jackson-McCartney song!

It was Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder (not Michael Jackson)

Well, except for the fact that Jackson couldn't really sing that song with McCartney...at least not anymore. ;-)

I used to really like Condi.

But after her comments about Gaza and her insistence on Israel giving up even more land, I wouldn't vote for her if she was running for Dog Catcher.

I bought {and started using} my Dr. Rice in 2008 bumperstickers over a year ago.

You, too? Woo hoo! I'll respect her wishes, but I surely hope she decides to delay her desires to be football commissioner to serve as our Commander In Chief.

I appreciate your reference of "Dr. Rice". I'm right there with you.... to much respect to presume to call her "Condi".
