A Rice-Allen Ticket in '08?
Liberty Call US, Deck Log ^ | August 17, 2005 | Liberty

What about a Rice-Allen Ticket in 2008?

You heard it here first!

Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice has great name recognition, solid foreign policy credentials, and a brilliant mind. Former Virginia Governor and current Senator George Allen has a solid conservative foundation, a friendly outgoing personality, and plenty of leadership experience. Rice would strip a lot of black and women's votes from the Democrat ticket; Allen would pull in the conservatives. This is a ticket that could beat Hillary Clinton. This is a ticket that would keep the Democrats out of the White House for eight years with Rice as President, then another eight as Allen ran to replace her. The added benefit is that HRC would be out of serious politics permanently.

Early indications are that Republicans would support Rice.

To me Rice has everything except that elusive trait they call being "presidential". But I might still be inclined to support her over someone even more viable simply because of her sex. I'm sorry if that borders on affirmative action, but it's about damn time for a woman. And I guess Katherine Harris would do good to finish her Senate term first, but after Condi I say she's up!

And another thing, I'm uninformed regarding Condi's civil status; is she even married? You'd think the President would have to be.

I want a pun ticket. Brown/Rice Minute/Rice Instant/Rice Jasmine/Rice. We need to groom a politician with a good name to go with hers.

How about the fine cuisine of Cornyn-Rice?

In the wake of the Able Danger revelations that are only now beginning to come out, especially those that concern Hillary pal Jamie Gorelick, allow me to contend that your post doesn't even pass the laugh test.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Besides her less than conservative views, Condi has never run for elective office. She has not come under the kind of scrutiny that a Presidential candidate will elicit. Aside from her present position as SecState, she has not had significant executive experience. Hoover and Eisenhower ran for President as their first elective office, but they had extensive management and leadership experience involving huge resouces, men and materiel.

If polls are to be believed, McCain and Giuliani would defeat HRC. Their problem is getting the GOP nomination.

Exactly, sending the Clintons to the dust bin of history is the underlying reason for defeating Hillary in 2008.

Come to think of it there is Chelsea. Damn! The liberals in the media probably have a backup plan to promote her down the road if 'Hillary' goes down in flames.

I guess that'll keep Rush, Hannity and company is business for years to come. ;)

i find all this interesting becuase people on FR rip on McCain for not being a solid conservative but Condi doesnt even claim to be. I dont get it. Shes pro gays and pro abortion and pro gun control, RINO if i ever heard it

It's simple. Condi supports W's message. McCain does not.

Irregardless of the lack of morals - it'd be *very* difficult for them to pull the race card and not piss off a vast swathe of black voters. Especially after having oversensitized the society to such things. I'm at a loss as to what they'd shout on top of their lungs to get african american votes. And without that block and the unions in disarray... Whigs. Yepp... just like the Whigs.
