To their credit, the S.B. County sherrifs are trying to do something about the illegal alien invasion . .

I'm not against a guest worker program, but I have to wonder if these same women will be on the same street corner competing with legal guest workers for these jobs.

San Bernardino County supervisors on Tuesday approved a program to identify illegal immigrants booked into the county's jails and turn them over to federal immigration authorities for possible deportation.

The plan is similar to one that drew fire when it was approved in Los Angeles County earlier this year.... The Los Angeles County program will target only convicted inmates; San Bernardino County would interview all inmates.

The programs have drawn strong criticism from activists supporting [illegal] immigrant rights, who say that immigrants — legal and illegal — will start to view law officers as immigration agents and will be afraid to seek help or report crimes.

I don't know how day laborers would be treated under a guest worker program.

We need day laborers. Not all of us can afford to keep someone on salary year round when we only need someone a few days throughout the year.

Since I don't speak Spanish I have to hire people who charge a lot more, when I can find someone, and if they show up.

Outside of the federal building on Westwood in LA, hawkers openly sell every type of false ID, right on the sidewalk.

There is even a hand sign for it: the false ID peddlers hold up their thumb and forefinger together, as if holding up an ID card.

FBI, ICE, IRS agents etc going to and from work practically have to push the false ID peddlers aside to get into the federal building.

(I just want a list of the laws which "really count" and I have to obey, and a list of the laws I can simply ignore, the way "law enforcement" ignores immigration law.)
