More than 40 percent of Hispanic voters say the rising tide of illegal aliens is hurting the country, and more than one-third want the government to discourage additional legal immigration, according to a Democratic survey.

The survey of 1,000 likely Hispanic voters by veteran Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg for a Democratic advocacy group found that 34 percent think there already are too many immigrants in the U.S. and that new entrants into the country should be reduced or stopped altogether.

In one of the most politically significant findings in the Democracy Corps poll, 53 percent of hispanics said they would support a Democratic candidate "who says the current level of immigration threatens American workers and our national security."

So there you go, and I am NOT surprised. I have alwasy said not to mistake Hispanics with Mexicans or any other Hispanic group since we come in all stripes and colors, literally. And I would expect this to be largely true even among Americans/Mexicans and Legal Mexicans residents, as well.

In the privacy of the voting booth most hispanics express their true feelings about illegal immigration. They support it.

Where is that a ballot issue on which one can vote?

What is your definition of "most hispanics"?

Since the voting booth protects privacy, how can you know how anyone votes?

On what do you base such a silly asertion?

Republican party takes soft stance on illegal immigration. Hispanics begin voting more for Republicans. Hispanics support hispanic immigration, legal or illegal. 1+1=2

Who knows, maybe you're right. What you say seems to be the "conventional wisdom".

I just don't see hispanics as some monolithic voting bloc that can be so easily pidgeon-holed.

Some may vote based on immigration policy. Some may be so called "values voters",voting based on religious beliefs or family traditions.Or for any number of other reasons or combinations of reasons.

Hispanics come in all flavors so predicting their voting behavior is way above my limited gift of clairvoyance.

But again,who knows,maybe you're right.
