Committed Errors (Surprise: 9/11 Commission)
InvestorsBusinessDaily/YahooNews ^ | 8-15-05

National Security: After first denying that it knew about pre-9-11 intelligence naming Mohammed Atta as an al-Qaida operative, the 9-11 commission now admits it did know. Just who failed to connect dots -- and why?

Al Felzenberg, spokesman for the commission's follow-up program, the 9-11 Public Discourse Project, said earlier last week the panel was unaware of pre-9-11 intelligence linking Atta to al-Qaida.

(SNIP)

.....link wasn't included in the commission's public report, released four days before the 2004 Democratic National Convention, because it was not consistent with what the panel knew about Atta's activities before the attack.

But was the intelligence -- the result of a classified Army intel operation called Able Danger -- inconsistent or was it just inconvenient? And was it inconsistent with what the panel's members knew or inconsistent with what they wanted to believe?

(snip)

Contrast this lack of curiosity on the part of the commission then and the media now with the questions Condoleezza Rice faced over a presidential daily briefing, or PDB, that allegedly warned Bush of the attack.

The shabby treatment of Rice, with Richard Ben-Veniste asking loaded questions based on false premises and then refusing to let Rice answer, hinted that this was less a search for information than an inquisition designed to bring the Bush administration down.

On the panel was a former Clinton administration deputy attorney general, Jamie Gorelick, a participant in the very events being investigated. Gorelick pummeled Rice not with questions, but with accusations of malfeasance.

She demanded to know why Rice's office failed to "connect the dots," knowing she was the one who issued the memo ordering the FBI to erect a legal wall between itself and the CIA, preventing them from sharing information. Gorelick should have been a witness herself, not a panel member.

This just keeps getting worse and worse and most of us here know some of this already, but it still shocks.

Please, oh please let all of this hit the fan, BIG TIME, after Labor Day, when the rest of the populace reignites their brains.

And Star, please keep pinging me to EVERYTHING! Many thanks for all of your previous pings! :-)

I will ... this reads like a bad B movie, but in this case .. truth is really so much worse than fiction.

It's a terrible read and no book publisher, nor movie producer would EVER take this story on; it's just too far fetched to be taken for real...even for a novel. But then "WAG THE DOG" did turn out to be VERY real, indeed.

I'm book-marking all of this! I will NEVER allow this info to be forgotten; NEVER !

Clinton couldn't remember why he changed the language. He's such a liar.

The main reason the democRATS didn't want John Ashcroft as Attorney General is they knew if he found out about this mess jamie and clinton, clinton and gore made, if there was anyway he could bring it out, he would.

He tried in his 9/11 hearing, but I think the President wanted a different tone in Washington and wouldn't let him.

I feel that alot of the problems we are having with the Republicans speaking out against the Rats are because of Bush, he wants a different tone in his adminstration, but its becoming harmful for him to do so, he should take the gag order off everyone and let this stuff get out.

Alot of people don't know about this information on 9/11, and other things that clinton, clinton and gore did for 8 years, and until the MSM is MADE to report it, some of the people think clinton walks on water. Its the same thinking as why do people keep voting in kennedy? As long as there are little old women who have JFK's picture hanging on their wall next to the Pope, kennedy is their idol.

We can never allow a sixties radical into the White House again.

I was a lefty back then, and I used to sit around with other fellow travelers dreaming of the day when we could get one of our own in the White House. We knew this person would have to be a bit devious just to get elected. This person would then proceed to dismantle the hated "military industrial complex", and also dispense with the real enemy, capitalism.

We loved America, but only conditionally, we hated everything that today I realize made her great. Clinton's actions while in office indicate that he never left the plantation, he deliberately weakened the military, deliberately neutered the FBI and CIA, and failed only in his mission to socialize much of our economy.

Clinton consistently protected Saddam Hussein, and in his refusal to accept bin-Laden from the Sudanese, allowed us to be attacked. The transfer of missile technology to the Chinese is another indication that for Clinton, America was the enemy.

Some of us on the right have seen the Clinton administration as a series of blunders, we may have used the word "failures" to describe what happened, but it's not that at all. If viewed in the context of the sixties' radical mindset, it was all DELIBERATE.

This is what we must understand as we move forward, in light of what we face with the possible ascension of Hillary to the Presidency.

Jamie Gorelick had NO business being on that panel

She should have been a witness

Was the fact that Gorlick was on the commission an accident, or was it planned that way?

She would have had no control over the commission as a witness, therefore she had to be on the commission.

bump!

Listen to this and ask yourself if America Ever Had the Remotest Chance Under a clinton to Avoid 9/11
(To paraphrase Einstein: "The unleashed power of terrorism has changed everything save our modes of thinking, and we thus drift toward unparalleled catastrophes.")

The Dems picked who on their side would be on the Commission
