WASHINGTON, Aug. 16 - State Department analysts warned the Clinton administration in July 1996 that Osama bin Laden's move to Afghanistan would give him an even more dangerous haven as he sought to expand radical Islam "well beyond the Middle East," but the government chose not to deter the move, newly declassified documents show.

I said in another thread that there has to be a story coming on Clinton when he said "I desperately wish that I had been president when the FBI and CIA finally confirmed, officially, that bin Laden was responsible for the attack on the U.S.S. Cole," Clinton tells New York magazine this week. "Then we could have launched an attack on Afghanistan early."

Clinton got a heads up from the NY Times and I am sure is doing as much damage control as possible. I hope FR, Fox News and talk radio continue to talk about this. The truth eventually comes out and this is the "death blow" for his presidential legacy. I believe Berger is going down unless he sings like a canary and says what he was destroying.

So, the question for Democrats and unaligned voters has to be: after two failed presidencies, Carter and Clinton, do you really want another one? It took Reagan to clean up Carter's mess and Bush to clean up Clinton's mess, does the voting public really want to go through this again?

By the End of that week that was things got real personal for me as my fellow "WE WERE SOLDIERS" Veteran RICK RESCORLA had turned up missing at the World Trade Center's Tower II ...after his having saved 1,000's of lives there. Just like he had already saved the lives of many during our 1965 Vietnam Battle & the 1993 Bombing of the World Trade Center.
