The Heart of Texas Chapter is planning a return to Crawford on Saturday, August 27. Our purpose this time will be to team up with the Move America Forward Caravan, which will originate in California, and pick up supporters from across the country. More can be found about Move America Forward here:MAF
We hope that with this much advance notice, more Freepers will be able to join us this time.
I have spent most of the day trying to contact someone at MAF, but they are so busy they haven't gotten back to me yet. However, it shouldn't be hard to notice a caravan of buses and cars in Crawford, so we will be able to jump in with them with no problem.
I spoke with Police Chief Donnie today, and he really seemed happy to hear that we were coming back. We won't need a permit this time, as we will be a tag on to the MAF permit.
Everyone with suggestions for signs, tactics, etc. please chime in. This will be another Support the Troops Rally--but MAF will probably get in a little Sheehan bashing--which is fine with me!
I know your heart is in the right place basil, I've met you.
However, I'm still not convinced about this FReep. I'm disinclined to associate with anything that would so much as give that woman the time of day, let alone address her "issues" directly.
I'll watch for developments and decide later.
Either way, good on ya' sweetie.
Hey, whose the guy with the goofy hat
next to Mr. Ed?
Thanks, Basil. I can go this time!
Haha, or "whacko". I've never figured it out. The area is decidedly conservative in attitude, then come election time they elect a Democrat to Congress and the local paper endorses Kerry. Sheesh, even the Austin paper endorsed Bush. Now they think he should reward them by putting his library here. Admittedly they've offered him an absolutely beautiful site on the Brazos River, so maybe he'll go for it.
I was thinking the other day we should do something for them.
So how can we get Ms. Healy down here on the 27th???

I think its time for this "Yellow Dog" to spend a little time at Guantanamo, where his Liberal ACLU friends will be of no use.
Yeah. What can they say ? If we freep Sheehan , we are giving them what they want IMO. I loved it. Just flags and support for the troops and president. I got the feeling they wanted a fight and were really disappointed.
Hello all,
First time to be posting here... Going to Crawford the 27th and 28th. Looking for some sort of information on how everyone is organizing...
Thanks to all...
"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." John Adams - October 11, 1798
BTTT
He characterized the pro-troops people as the ANTI-Cindy or Anti-Sheehan group...
I don't know who that is. But no one can do it FOR us. None of our signs said anything to the effect. So they are coming up with it out of thin air. Anyone who sees the signs sees nothing to back up what is characterized.
No, Basil, you are right.
The Move America Forward message is that Cindy Sheehan's voice is not representative of military families who support the mission their sons and daughters are serving in.
If you read the articles already up you'll see that the message of Deborah Johns (Marine Mom) and Melanie Morgan (MAF Chairman) is that we must not falter in our support for our troops AND their mission - the terrorists WANT American resolve to dwindle, and we cannot cave in now and surrender.
So, that's the thrust. There will be variations on this message from those groups that join us and participate.
But, that is the guidance MAF is sending out and people are welcome to join us even if they have a somewhat different take or angle.
Make sense?
That statement sounds okay to me. I just wouldn't put on a "Hey Cindy" at the front. :D
Welcome to FR!
Anderson Cooper is a news guy ala Chris Matthews or O'Reilly,...
he has his own hour long show on CNN in the evening.
Welcome home, Stuck!
This thread is aimed at all those of us who will go to Crawford this Saturday, Aug 20th. If interested, please join us this weekend! We have a large group coming in from California and we'll all meet up there.
All you'd have to do is drive into town, and look for the group with all the flags and happy faces. Frankly, my personal opinion is that by the 27th President Bush will be long gone if the hippies don't settle down.
Thanks for the bump, Unicorn!
*burp*
I'm baaaack! ;-)
Makes great sense, Impeach 98. Thanks for the added information.
