The Heart of Texas Chapter is planning a return to Crawford on Saturday, August 27. Our purpose this time will be to team up with the Move America Forward Caravan, which will originate in California, and pick up supporters from across the country. We hope that with this much advance notice, more Freepers will be able to join us this time.
I have spent most of the day trying to contact someone at MAF, but they are so busy they haven't gotten back to me yet. However, it shouldn't be hard to notice a caravan of buses and cars in Crawford, so we will be able to jump in with them with no problem.
I spoke with Police Chief Donnie today, and he really seemed happy to hear that we were coming back. We won't need a permit this time, as we will be a tag on to the MAF permit.
Everyone with suggestions for signs, tactics, etc. please chime in. This will be another Support the Troops Rally--but MAF will probably get in a little Sheehan bashing--which is fine with me!

Her kids that are still living are the ONLY ones I feel sorry for right now...
(except, of course, other parents who have lost sons/daughters and are being hurt by this)
They lost a brother, and now their parents are getting a divorce, and their MOM is just ignoring them and their grief!!!

Enthusiasm got the better of me. We would have been there earlier but, hubby wouldn't listen to the navigator(me) and got us lost three times. The last time I put the map in the back seat and let him drive about 15 miles outta the way. When he finally asked me again where we were. I told him...'you remember about 15 miles back when I told you to turn and you said that wasn't right.' He said, just how long were you going to let drive in the wrong direction? I told him as long as it took.
He didn't question my map reading after that. Lolol

From our experience last week in Crawford..it REALLY made the leftist and reporters MAD that we weren't there with anti-Cindy signs. Although I share the same sentiment of wanting to go after her I think it helps our cause more to stick to pro-troop messages. It really bugs the left and I like that.
Yes, that's what I'm worried about too. There are several upscale subdivisions around Crawford, and school started this week, so you have parents with some well justified concerns about traffic and stranger danger. The Crawford PTA has been vocal in the past about the media presence on school grounds. They especially don't like the look of some of the lefties Cindy is attracting. Traffic is horrendous, it's noisy, and people are just fed up. Add in two opposing camps, some redneck behavior, and the heat, and it's a recipe for disaster.

I have told him a million times that he would get lost backing out of the driveway if I didn't tell him which way to go...lol
I cannot even count how many times we have had to turn around and backtrack because he misses exits and turnoffs that he has made dozens of times!!!
I just wish he would let me drive..but, NO, I make HIM nervous...he he

I personally don't want anything to do with Cindy..even negative as far as signs or publicity, etc...
Of course, I am not planning it...nor do I know at this point if I will be able to go...but, these are my feelings about this.
There is word from Texas Tech that they are going to have a group of Conservatives head over to Crawford. I will send this email over to their website.

Unfortunately, I think Moveon.org and all of the groups that are behind Cindy are cognizant of the fact that MOST conservatives are NOT of a mind to do anything to smear a mother who has lost her son at war...
even if she is making a fool of herself, and possibly putting our troops in further danger in Iraq.
Therefore, they are pouring on the left propaganda, knowing that it won't be coming back at them in this case...like it would say in a political campaign...
