The Heart of Texas Chapter is planning a return to Crawford on Saturday, August 27. Our purpose this time will be to team up with the Move America Forward Caravan, which will originate in California, and pick up supporters from across the country. More can be found about Move America Forward here:MAF
We hope that with this much advance notice, more Freepers will be able to join us this time.
I have spent most of the day trying to contact someone at MAF, but they are so busy they haven't gotten back to me yet. However, it shouldn't be hard to notice a caravan of buses and cars in Crawford, so we will be able to jump in with them with no problem.
I spoke with Police Chief Donnie today, and he really seemed happy to hear that we were coming back. We won't need a permit this time, as we will be a tag on to the MAF permit.
Everyone with suggestions for signs, tactics, etc. please chime in. This will be another Support the Troops Rally--but MAF will probably get in a little Sheehan bashing--which is fine with me!
Maybe other FReepers like roughing it too. If I can go primitive camping in Louisiana in the dog days of August, I'm sure I can handle Texas. :-)
Well--TX will be the same as Louisiana--minus the humidity and alligators.
You forgot the mosquitoes the size of bats. Lololol
I still have a couple of those. I might bring one.
Yea ... Ask Cindy why she thinks ABC altered her email to Ted Koppel ??
I recommend that you fly into Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), then drive to Crawford (about 2 hours, 45 minutes one way). basil can give specific meetup directions once she has everything coordinated out with MAF, but here are directions from DFW to Crawford. Crawford is small enough that as long as you have basil's (or another Freeper helping her coordinate) cell phone number, it will take just a few minutes to find everyone once you get to Crawford.
Basil, would it help if everyone who had FRS radio sets (walkie-talkies) brought them? It might make it easier to coordinate disparate groups.
HA! I wish I was home so I could post you a picture and show you what they were driving.
I'm trying to work with some other FR members to legally compel the protesters in Crawford to discontinue using the names of our military who have died in Iraq for their own political agenda. My cousin was killed in Iraq on Jan 4, Jeremy McHalffey, and I want to determine if his name is on one of the crosses in Crawford. Also, we'd like to contact other families who have lost loved ones in Iraq who also do not want the names used for anti-war protest. If someone would be able to either video tape the crosses, clear enough for us to determine the names, or take photos, we'll start contacting the proper families. Please PM me if you think you'll be able to accept this very important assignment.
I was thinking.... If someone could make up some bullet points regarding Able Danger and print about 20 copies off, that we could pass them out to the press this weekend.
Of course, the reason would be that the press is too lazy to dig up facts for themselves! Maybe we could educate them a little??
We need to organize ourselves like the leftists always do. Is there anybody at their office who could do that and bring them along on Saturday?
Grammatically speaking, shouldn't that be, "Ho is I"?
Yes they do!! But of course, I'm biased. :)
I had to skip ahead many posts right now to look and see if there is a FReep this Saturday, or is it just scheduled for the one on the 27th?
I would love to see a sign with Casey's picture on it that said: HE SUPPORTED PRESIDENT BUSH AND SO DO WE!
Active Duty can participate in this rally as long as they do NOT wear their uniform, aide in the set up in any way. I just called my husband whom is active duty AF to confirm this.
HOT FReepers ROCK!
EAGLES UP!! I'm with you in spirit, folks.
Perhaps a sign with Cindy's quote, "This country is NOT worth dying for".
Soldiers have always had the ability to turn my head. :-)
Thanks for the information...
If anyone knows a soldier at Ft. Hood, maybe the message could be spread that we would like to see them and thank them.
Calling hubby to make some inquires. He has army folks that work for him. I'll see if any of them know some there and maybe willing to drop some emails. Can you give me some info as to date, time etc.?
According to the title of this thread---there is going to be an update on this HOT get together this evening..
I would just keep bumping this thread ---where you will find out the particulars...
Also, if you miss it..you could freepmail Basil...who seems to be the threadmaster here.
