Cindy Sheehan is the mother of a fallen soldier, Casey Sheehan, a man who volunteered to serve his country and gave his life so that people in Iraq might have a government that did not threaten them, and us. As such, she is entitled to our sympathy and gratitude. Unfortunately, she has lately become something else: the poster child for surrender....

That's a word that hadn't passed my lips (or fingers) in the whole Sheehan mess. It should have occurred to me sooner.
From now on, it's not "withdrawing" or "bringing the troops home" or any of the other euphamisms the Left uses for what they're demanding.
They're demanding surrender, a word that properly captures the submission, the capitulation, the acquiescence that they are demanding. From now on I will use no other word for what they want.
Thanks, Frank Gaffney.
Her husband filed for divorce over her antics. Poor man, its bad enough to lose a child, but to have your own wife making the pain a hundred times worse is horrendous.
Yep.
Even when I held pacifist views personally, I didn't presume I knew enough about the world situation to camp on the President's lawn and tell him what to do.
Humility would have helped Cindy greatly.
I wonder if he's really serious about divorcing her, or if he's trying to bring her to her senses. Casey was a devout Catholic - he must have learned it somewhere.
Sheehan is a disgrace to every American Soldier on the front lines fighting terror, and the terrorist who want to murder everyone who does not subject themselves to their religious politics.
Shame on Sheehan, and the liberals pushing the agenda of hate america, love the terrorist!
I find it sad that she (like most on the left) has no core beliefs, no belief system to sustain and comfort her through her grieving. She has thrown away her home, her husband and marriage, and abandoned her other children just for her sick hated of Bush. Her other children need her now, her dead son is beyond that. Her hatred is misdirected and so is her energy
Sheehan threw her family away for the liberal agenda! It was her choice, and shame of her!
I wonder what Casey is thinking about his Mother dumping his Father for a liberal extremist view in support of the terrorist who killed him?
Shame on Cindy Sheehan

Axis Sally used to say
"Damn all Jews who made this war possible. I love America, but I do not love Roosevelt and all his k#ke boyfriends."

Maybe he's just trying to bring her to her senses, but considering the emotional torture Cindy seems to be putting him through, there may well be grounds for annulment. If he fills out the papers for the Church, we'll know the poor man is serious.
I feel for him and their surviving children. This has gotta be Hell on all of them.
Perhaps Cindy has French ancestry?
But the liberal media thinks so. Maureen Dowd said a greiving mother's moral authority is "absolute", except of course, if you are a conservative.
It's a terrible thing she's done to her family by throwing in her lot with his killers and verbally p*ssing on his grave every single day. Makes me sick
The Ditch Witch of Vacaville
she is not different in her insanity than that mother of
a soldier named Winchell murdered at Ft.Campbell some years ago- and that woman has gone about in her personal vendetta against the Post Commander (A man cleared of any
of the charges made by Winchell via Court Martial evidence)
Cindy is no different than the mothers who blame G_d if their child is killed riding their bicycle. All of her
complaints are clearly NOT based in reality as reasonable
people define such. In every generation of soldiers there
have been mothers who have gone insane in their grief they
ought be pitied -but ought not be accomodatedin any realization of their unjust demands.
Um, she does have core beliefs and a belief system; if she stated her core beliefs openly, she would probable be ignored or imprisoned, so she dances around them...IMHO
I personally escorted a very very good friend, and brother in arms home after he was killed. I was extremly upset, and was lashing out at everybody. I then blamed myself, if I had only done it this way, or that way etc. I soon realized that it was no ones fault, and foundout the best way to honor my brother in arms was to continue to be the very best I could be, defending this great Country!
Great post!
Yours was a natural response -part of the process. My mom committed suicide when I was on orders for 'Nam. The Red Cross got me a ten day delay in rout, and extorted refund.
A Texas HP let me off with a warning it would be a "shame" if my dad had to bury two -and a promise to pay attention to posted speed limits till I crossed out of his jurisdiction. At the funeral my brothers fathe rin law thought it right to escort my brother and I to pay our respects( to this day I swear I will NOT have an open casket
that was not my mother) But what cindy has done passes beyond the natural into the relm of all consuming HATRED.
In her blind refusal to accept accountability for her own
emotions and her refusal to allow her son to have made his own adult decisions she is destroying everything about her life.
