The best way to confront the US and EU3 dictatorship is to "impose an embargo on oil sales to those countries, said an English-language paper here Sunday commenting on last Thursday "unfair" resolution of the UN nuclear watchdog against Iran.
The 'Tehran Times' suggested in its editorial that the world oil-rich states should form a united front in order to confront "Western neocolonialist countries." Criticizing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) resolution against Iran, the paper said that it was ratified "to meet the objectives of the Zionist regime and the United States." It added that the resolution, issued under pressure from the United States and the European Union big three, actually indicated that "the status of international organizations, including the IAEA, has declined seriously in the face of the blackmail of the neocolonialist powers." the paper further criticized West's double-standard policy towards the nuclear issue saying "Although several countries, including the Zionist regime, Pakistan and India are producing nuclear weapons and most of them have conducted nuclear tests, the United States and its Western allies are trying to deprive Iran of its right to gain access to civilian nuclear expertise." Referring to the fact that the US and other Western countries were highly dependent to the natural resources of the Middle Eastern states, including their fossil fuel resources, to power their military and civilian industries, Tehran Times suggested that the oil-rich countries, including Iran, which possess "the most significant pressure lever, should wisely use this tool to punish the Western neocolonialist countries.
"Oil is the lifeline of the West, and most of the West's military industries are dependent on it. Therefore, it is the most potent economic weapon for settling scores with neocolonialist countries," the paper stressed.
It further noted that the Iranian nation clearly has the right to stand up to the "dictatorship of the EU3 and the U.S and the best act of resistance would be to impose an embargo on oil sales to those countries." Stressing that Iran is a country "with great potential to respond to Western meddling," the paper said that Tehran should consult with some OPEC countries and then propose plans to confront the hegemonic actions of the West.
"Islamic countries must unite and formulate a political strategy to respond to Western neocolonialist countries, since the efforts to prevent Iran from accessing nuclear technology are the first step in the plan to prevent other Islamic and Third World countries from developing this vital technology," warned the paper in conclusion.

It may be stated that the few Muslim countries, which do figure between 25 to 50 HDI, are Brunei, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar. Their per capita GDP is also comparatively higher i.e. between 10,000 to 15,000 dollars but combined population of all these Muslim countries is hardly 30 millions. One must bear in mind that total GDP of all the Arab oil producing counties (12 in numbers) is less than the GDP of Spain alone. Ironically Muslim Spain during Middle Ages had higher revenue (because of the industrial products like Textile, Paper, mineral etc) than the whole of the Christian Europe (eleventh Century AD). Today Germany alone has a GDP of 3 thousand Billion Dollars that is almost twice of the entire Muslim World.
Anyone could see that this is where it was all leading.
The best strategy for the US and Britain, Japan, etc., is to invest heavily in on ground intelligence gathering, infiltration, and 'covert' elimination of 'individual' problems. Works wonders without bombing the hell out of some city / civilians.
After Schroeder bashed the US in his current election campain again through saying that he is ruling out all millitary means against Iran, it must be a pleasure for G.W.B. to demand a strict EU-embargo on the mullahs. The German chancellor would be in a very difficult situation, since the German public isn't interested in the Iranian bomb either. This could be seen as a felicitous blow against the Mullah-regime, that is absolutely not popular among Germans. Schroeder would be forced to join into a economic war because his voters expect him to be a "good" guy with responsibility (of cause he isn't, but he would not have any choice).
Everybody knows, that the US-troops are bound in Iraq and other countries and I doubt that the Iranians are really afraid of Israeli air raids. Israel is too weak and has too many other problems that a long conventional war with such a strong country is in its interest. There would be no chance to "win" definitely without a huge amount of ground forces (that Israel doesn't have). The only real threat for the mullahs would be rolling US-tanks and marching Marines. This scenario is quite unlikely. BTW - I am sure that the Iranians have much more combat strength compared to Iraq for example, since its troops are highly motivated. Therefore a strict embargo (with no oil-for-food-BS) is the most adequate way to put stress on the regime. If the economic situation gets worse, the Iranian people have even more reason to get rid of Chamenei and his buddies.
Germany with 13% and France with 8.9% of all imports are by far Irans biggest partners for Imports. This is the place where Teheran is buying everything - from high tech for its bloddy uranium enrichment plants up to lipstick for its beautiful women. It would be a funny irony of history if Germany and France could be a decisive key of the way to freedom of the Iranian people.
Lets hope Dubya is kicking Schroeders a**!
MUHAHAHAHHAHAHA
oh , wiping tears from my eyes... thanks nothing i like more then a good laugh....now again...tell me the one about saving the world....go on...its hilarious...
priceless...absolutely priceless...
go back to the mall that spawned you......
The "poor" in this country are wealthier than they have ever been before. They have a higher standard of living than the Europeans. In fact the "poor" in the US are better off than most of the "middle class" in Europe. Fact.
The average wage earner in the US is richer that 94% of the people in the world. He is in the top 4% of the richest people in the world. The average African only makes ~ $250 a year.
Great map! It took me a minute to get my bearings when I looked at it!
Well, it will save us the trouble of doing it ourselves.
"The "poor" in this country are wealthier than they have ever been before. They have a higher standard of living than the Europeans"
I've seen poor in the US and unless you are refering to some east european dump hole then no way do they have anything near as high living standards as middle class europeans. Amazing as it may seem we don't tend to live in caves over here and ride goats.
Now put that Chomsky book away and join the real world for a change.
The best solution is to drop a small nuke on the facility from a really long ways up.... and then deny deny deny. Just say... that's the problem with developing nuke energy. It's really dangerous.
zzzzzot
"Now, the US has more people in prison in Iraq than Mr. Saddam ever did!"
Are you an idiot in real life too?
"Now, the US has more people in prison in Iraq than Mr. Saddam ever did!"
Are you an idiot in real life too?
"But, the US does not help countries and/or groups when there is no benefit to the US."
BULL. Not only did we just bail out Indonesia from the tsunami catastrophe from our government to our people, we just signed a multi-billion dollar aid package to Africa. Tell me what strategic gain we have in helping Africa other then being benevolent?
Yes, the US has had policy highly influenced by oil, I will not argue that point. Your point about helping Bin Laden and Saddam, the Shah of Iran is also true. However, each of these individuals used our aid to then attack other countries and us when it suited their needs and very shortly afterwards.
So yes, we put Saddam in jail after we helped him and then he invaded Kuwait as his thank you and was continuing to threaten his enemies. Yes, we helped Bin Laden fight off the Soviets, but what was his thanks? Two WTC attacks killing 3,300 people not to mention the USS Cole, African Embassy bombings and God knows what else. The Shah of Iran? How about The Iranian Hostage crises buddy? Did we ask for that as well? Iran has cost us lives, money and time. We tried to engage North Korea and help them. What did they do? Use our resources to build more military competency, including nukes and threaten to use them on us.
Your references to the sword are biblical based. I am a Christian but the bible teaches me that their is a time for war and a time for peace. Is not one of God's names "I AM of Armies' in English? Christ said when he returns He will bring a sword and Revelations said that His followers here on earth would join Him in the final earthly battle before the 1,000 year reign. America is not perfect, yeah we got a little conceited but if God would save Soddom and Gomorrah because of only 10 righteous people (they didn't even have that) what do you think He will do about the 100 million God fearing people here in America?
Disengagement from the world, sealing our borders and pouring a trillion dollars into our own self-reliant energy sources might be temporary smart play, but we would then be re-deploying 10-15 years from now as the evil players gain ground.
He was a troll and banned!"
Good, what a retard and a bad example of trying to preach God's word using retarted logic.
