New book blames Scott Peterson's mom

Scott Peterson’s mother is to blame for the murder of his pregnant wife, a forensic psychiatrist maintains in the case’s latest true-crime book. Without ever examining Peterson himself, Dr. Keith Ablow concluded that the Modesto man is innocent by reason of insanity - brought on by his mother, Jackie Peterson.

“He was not only insane, he was not really a person,” Ablow wrote in “Inside the Mind of Scott Peterson.” The book should have been released Monday, a publicist said, though some stores stocked it several days earlier.

Peterson was convicted last year of the Christmastime 2002 murder of his wife, Laci, and their unborn son, Conner.

It's A-holes like this psychiatrist that gives the mental health profession a bad name.

Liberals must shift responsibility as far from individuals as possible, preferably to their political enemies (ie- their moral and ethical superiors), but primarily away from the true source of anyone's credit or shame.

Psychiatry is the perfect practice for this purpose, having vague, and altogether false roots in "science", yet traditionally recognized and even legally sanctioned as authority on everything from love and hate, to sex and murder.

And your taxes pay for this.

Yes, if she'd only aborted him, none of this would have happened. /sarcasm

This reminds me of a Steve Martin movie where he fears his offspring will become the University of Texas bell tower sniper. This pop psychologist is trying to cash in on a universal fear, like the dream where you are out in public in your underwear. What parent wouldn't dread ones own being tried and convicted of a horrific crime?

So, is he saying that Jackie Peterson should be on death row instead of Snotty?

I have very little respect for psychiatry as a rule and this remote form of celebrity armchair psychiatry is nothing more than mental snake oil.
