I think that in some demented way this is her way of getting back at her son for having joined the military against her wishesI think you hit the right button. As a trained counselor, this would be my take on Cindy. Cindy is SELF-centered to a fault. She has not progressed emotionally beyond the concrete stage of development. The world revolves around Cindy. Cindy controlled everything and everyone around her. She failed to control Casey. That infuriates her. She has to blame everyone but herself or her SELF-constructed world will come crashing down. She doesn't realize that it already has. Pitiful creature.

Yep, she's using their grief to prop herself up too.
Typical leftist, so immature and emotionally unstable that she's letting her kids fend for themselves. They need their parents to help them deal with their brother's death. Her politics are more important than her own children. She displays this then whines about being "slimed".

So I guess Cindy will be shutting her cake-hole and going home?

The world revolves around Cindy
Well, one might say HER world revolved around her, but - now, in her mind, with the loss of her son, and her marriage crumbling, her world has fallen apart.
The loss of a child and a spouse are truly tremendous losses.
But, she is a person who has many others who need her. Certainly her other children.
And, obvious to those on this thread, since the left has no leadership, they need her, too.
But which is the brighter light? From a media camera or from a child's smile? I would vote for the latter. Especially if it's your own child.
President Bush has never denied her right to speak her position on the war. She can always do that. But why she remains separated from those who truly love her most, her children - I don't understand.
She cries out here "Leave my family alone" but at this point -- who is really leaving who alone?

"the attention she doesn't deserve?"
Because the Natalie Holloway case is just getting too boring to follow?

That is what I meant, summer. HER world. The one she built for herself. She certainly has my empathy for the pain she feels at the loss of her son (I lost a 22 yr old son also), but she needs serious psychological help in order to learn to face reality. Casey made his own choices as an adult person. His death is not her fault as she deeply believes. It is also not President Bush's fault as she wishes it to be.

Apparently he never discussed it with them BEFORE he enlisted, so her opinion didn't matter to him one bit.Not only that, it underscores an important point: HE WAS A GROWN MAN WHO MADE HIS OWN DECISION.

Bingo! That's it Mike. When our children become adults they are free to make their own decisions. Some parents have a problem giving up control. As for life and death, we are all terminal from birth. This world is not a permanent home. (Now I'm preaching- sorry :o)

I strongly agree with you there.
And, I am sorry to hear of your own loss.

BTW, while President Bush has of course defended her right to take a different position than his on this war, I do agree with others here who have stated what she has been doing is not helping our troops in terms of moral or otherwise.
No American wants war; I honestly believe that. Peace is what we all want, but it's hard to have peace with terrorists taking actions lethal to peace-loving citizens and countries.
Who stops terrorism? What is the left's grand plan for stopping terrorism? I have yet to hear it.
Her son chose to fight and gave his life so others could be free. There is nothing more honorable than what her son did for this country and for others who love peace. The terrorists hate her son. But we love him. That should tell her something.

It is like she sparked and the left and the MSM are just pouring gasoline on it. She reminds me of the burning Vietnamese Buddhists.....on the streets of Saigon in the early 70s....

She is asking that everyone leave her family alone, yet there are reports of an email sent from her other son asking her to come home. I wonder who made that email public? This is reported in Time magazine, is it not?

When a person decides to become a "public figure" in today's America, they must expect every part of their life to be dragged through the mire.
Considerations of your family must be made prior to seeking the spotlight.
This woman is a wing-nut.
A grief stricken, pitiful, wing-nut, but a wing-nut none the less.

The only thing left for her to do to get more attention in making her point is suicide. Can't be a half martyr and the MSM would love to jump on that.

I didn't hear her ranting about the MSM investigating Judge Robert's children's adoption. If there ever was a reason for privacy......But now she wants to wah wah over stories about her family of adults? When she herself put many of those stories out there???

If you follow the path of her speaking, it is like a 5 yo who learns how to cuss for the first time.
First she says, tentatively, that she thinks the war was unnecessary and her son died in it. She gets shouts of encouragement.
Then she says it louder. More shouts of encouragement.
Then she says the President misled us. "Yeah, right on," she hears. All this time, no one calls her out that she is wron-headed and disrespecting her dead son.
Then she yells "The PRESIDENT IS EEEVIL." More shouts of encouragement.
Now she thinks she can say anything against the President, Israel, the USA, anything she wants and if anyone brings her up on it she flies into tears "boo hoo boo hoo, you can't say mean things to me, I am the mother of a dead soldier."
She still thinks she has 100% carte blanche to say whatever she wants without consequences or recourse.

you have to wonder if she was not screened by pr companies for the apparent pathetic look she has--so as to appear appealing to tv viewers Maybe so...I would say with some level of confidence that the libs dirty tricks macinery has been pounding the pavement looking for this kind of useful idiot. And, they seem to have found one. More could be coming soon.
