",i>Jose Boer-Sedano, who claimed a police officer in Mexico had forced him to perform sex acts under threat of being outed or killed."

Put that cop up for a Darwin Award. Jose Boer-Sedano is an admitted AIDS carrier. Stupid, stupid, cop!

If they are not legal residents of the COUNTRY, then there is no way they can be considered legal residents of the STATE.

If they are not legal residents of the state, yet are getting in-state tuition, why shouldn't every other non-state resident (including American citizens!) get tuition breaks also?

Other states, such as Massachusetts, are planning to do this too.

I live in NH but work in Massachusetts, so I have to pay the full Massachusetts state income tax. Why shouldn't I, a legal resident of the US, get in-state tuition? Illegal immigrants are no more legal residents of Massachusetts than I am...

Legal immigration has become a joke.
Anyone who can sneak in, will be rewarded with medical care, food stamps, a job, an education, and now the banking industry wants to reward them with a home loan.

I was thinking about taking some classes at our local community college, to get ready for possibly returning to school to get a Masters, but was told by current students not to bother - the immigrants and illegals are flooding the campus, and there is NO room for anyone now. (We're in the East Bay, San Francisco). I was told the illegals and immigrants get top priority for enrollment, and they sign up for every class they can, then pick and choose what they'll take, and by the time they drop the ones they don't want, it's too late for other kids to sit in and add the class. I was told it's so crowded, most teachers don't allow adding classes anymore, either.

I remember when I was attending Long Beach State, a latino group was demanding more courses taught in Spanish, and interpreters for any Spanish speaking students. I used to anger the proponents of this when I pointed out the charter of the school mandated "a working knowledge of English, written and spoken) to gain entry.

I wonder if it still says that?

I don't actually like pancakes but I know of what you speak.:)

My comment was meant to be supportive. Ho-hum.

Guess what? It still is.

My daughter was accepted at A&M but could not attend becuase - even though we voted in Texas, owned a business partnership in Texas, and held Texas drivers' licences - we were military and living in Alaska. She would have had to live a year in Texas before we could have afforded tuition. And illegal (criminal) aliens can get in state tuition? ...(sigh)

This idea of illegals paying instate tuition rates really pi$$e$ me off. I've got a daughter in college (going out of state) and two more on the way. Do I get a tuition break? Of course not, because I'm not an illegal. What freakin liberal idiots dreamed up this discrimination against native-born Americans?

Your family is the single greatest reason why this nauseating law should be dumped.

The day Rick Perry signed it I called his office and said Texas had left the Union. I still believe that.

To tell military families that the "residency" of illegal aliens trumps their citizenship is the most heinous insult I can think of.

Please don't take this lying down, just because you believe in doing your duty and putting up with the routine injustices of being in the military. Contact someone like Ron Paul or John Culberson, maybe DeLay - tell them your story. Maybe an outraged Congress could stop this.

Her lucky day! (just kidding--it's the tortilla-throwing Texas Tech Red Raider in me that couldn't resist).

Admittedly, it didn't help that I informed him of this on the same day he wrote Little HR's tuition check.

WOW! You sure know how to get your point across. Just twist the knife! *^)

But it's important the illegals be allowed to exercise their "right" to higher education, so they can achieve the "better life" and not have to "do the jobs Americans don't want to do" - it's just so very logical when you look at it that way...!

No exemption for on-duty military?!?

My older brother was dinged for Californicate state income tax on his military pay the whole time he was overseas, even though between European assignments, he registered to vote & got a drivers license while stationed in Texas, and living off base.

The contention was, since he enlisted while a California resident, he was a resident until mustered out, then established residency elsewhere; that one could NOT change residency while in the service, regardless of any intent or action taken. They collected, too.

I wonder if Mr. Rodriguez feels that the 47% of Hispanic voters who voted in favor of the anti-illegal alien measure Prop 200 in Arizona are a bunch of bigots and racists.

What freakin liberal idiots dreamed up this discrimination against native-born Americans?

The type of Idiots who hate the land they were born in because they have too much freedom. Lazy stupid SOBs. I've been saying for years, that we can no longer live with these people! When US finally balkanizes in 100 years or less, they need to be forced into their own corner and forced to deal with the problems they create. Europe is beginning to see the light although it may too late for them.

It's not bigotry or racism if the minorities are doing the screwing.

These new so called minority groups have just about worn out all the old races, bigoted statements used by the NAACP.

What we have here is a lot of ingrates who want something for nothing.

Remember, doing the jobs Americans will not do, B....S....

I'm just so damn tired of all the crying and gnashing of teeth by people who don't deserve a single break from the United States.

Idiots like those ignorant war protesters down in Crawford do not have an appreciation for what citizenship really means.

Such is the nature of illegal immigration issues, though. The more you learn about it, the more upset it makes you.

You have a fascinating FR profile, by the way. Great work, and that is quite a heritage.
