WASHINGTON – Nearly 4,000 Texas students would face a major tuition hike or loss of state financial aid if a conservative legal group successfully challenges a state law that has made college affordable for many illegal immigrants.
The Washington Legal Foundation has filed a complaint with the federal government charging that Texas is violating U.S. immigration law by allowing illegal immigrants living in the state to pay the same in-state tuition as Texas residents who are U.S. citizens.

Mr. HR won't even discuss illegal immigration issues now because he gets to angry. Until a few weeks ago, he was unaware that illegals get in-state tuition and are eligible for student loans & grants. Admittedly, it didn't help that I informed him of this on the same day he wrote Little HR's tuition check.
Meanwhile the rest of the legal student body pays higher tuition and their parents pay higher taxes to pay for the freeloading illegals.
They would be better off failing to renew their visas so they could get this subsidy by Texas.
In effect, the Texas law encourages lawbreaking ~ that undoubtedly violates the "republican form of government" clause, and should be sufficient reason for "W" to move the Army into Austin to begin the occupation and "reconstruction" of the state along modern lines.

Legal immigration has become a joke.
Anyone who can sneak in, will be rewarded with medical care, food stamps, a job, an education, and now the banking industry wants to reward them with a home loan.
I know many LEGAL immigrants who think this way. They waited their turn, they paid the fees, they filled out the paperwork, they waited the long wait. The illegals shove their way to the front of the line and get rewarded for it while they're demanding even more benefits of citizenship.
This isn't America anymore.
It's not a good thing (with a fear of being redundant).

Friday's decision by the San Francisco-based Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reverses rulings by immigration courts that ordered the deportation of Jose Boer-Sedano, who claimed a police officer in Mexico had forced him to perform sex acts under threat of being outed or killed.
The three-judge panel said Boer-Sedano, 45, would likely face further abuse and have difficulty getting life-sustaining AIDS medication if he were sent back to Mexico, where the U.S. State Department has found that violence against gays is widespread.

Well, that would be one way to put it. Another way would be that 4000 illegal immigrants are taking subsidized slots that are supposed to be reserved for in-state citizens. Yet another way would be to say that 4,000 people have been caught stealing from the tax payers.

Well, it is biased in that it favors people who are legitimately in the country but it has nothing to do with bigotry or race - many Texas citizens and legal residents are also of Mexican decent (about half, in fact)- every illegal who takes a slot could just as easily be taking it from someone else of the same race but who isn't breaking the law. Another reason it's not about race is that the suit is directed at all illegals, not just illegals from Mexico... they could be British or Canadian but if they are not citizens then we should not be subsidizing their education.
