FREEPERS have always trounced post/posters were there are no modifiers and far too broad a brush has been used. The only "downside" to this, is for people who go off 1/2 cocked and post things thoughtlessly.
The unfortunate reality is that the "simple answer" is sometimes a higher standard of perfection than human beings are capable of attaining; more so when the situation becomes emotionally charged. That we should always make the effort to state ourselves in the best and most precise language is a given, but we pass into a land of unrealistic expectations when we absolutely insist upon 100% success in those efforts. In the best of situations, that is to demand more of man than he can consistently provide.
As I see it, then, we need to be tolerant of an occasional failure with respect to the "simple answer", but we need not tolerate a chronic lack of effort with respect to same.
