We're in 100% agreement as to the "simple answer".

The unfortunate reality is that the "simple answer" is sometimes a higher standard of perfection than human beings are capable of attaining; more so when the situation becomes emotionally charged. That we should always make the effort to state ourselves in the best and most precise language is a given, but we pass into a land of unrealistic expectations when we absolutely insist upon 100% success in those efforts. In the best of situations, that is to demand more of man than he can consistently provide.

As I see it, then, we need to be tolerant of an occasional failure with respect to the "simple answer", but we need not tolerate a chronic lack of effort with respect to same.

Agreed; however, the poster whose post began this whole thing, is a chronic abuser of what anyone should have to tolerate and someone who never bothers to control himself. It's what's lung is on tongue and never any thought.

Nary a one of us is perfect, but at least some of us try to be careful when we post....most of the time.
