Sen. George Allen (Republican, Va.) has publicly encouraged the President to meet with Cindy Sheehan. Has your Congress Member and each of your Senators done so?
What's the story with Allen?
Don't know, Dave...
It's quite disappointing to hear such a statement has come from George Allen.
I think a number of peopel, including Senator Allen, took the position that it would be a kind thing to do BEFORE information came out that Cindy Sheehan was something quite different from just a mother consumed by grief because of the loss of a son. There was a good deal of compassion for her here before we found out more about this Professional Griever. I doubt that Allen would take that position now. jmho.
I find this very disheartening. I think we should all call our congressman, esp republicans, and discourage it. Imagine if the political party was reversed, and someone camped outside, say the WH, an arrest would be definate.
I plan to call my congressman and senators and ask them to show a little backbone by standing up against this nonsense.
I wouldn't give too much credence to their sources.
