They look like your average cottontail, with the brown-grey coat.
But they have, for lack of a better term, and arcing 'stripe' on either side.
Never seen such on a cottontail before.
And the floppy ears are somewhat odd, the cottontails ears usually are stiff and rigid, sticking straight back, or straight up depending on whether he's hiding or listening.

Wonder if one of the domestic rabbits that got loose was a Rex, as the one Sire out there is huge.
The bunnies here tend to be everywhere, but not in great numbers.

That's interesting. Never came across a bunnie here yet, that looked like it had a difference in appearance. Yes, the ears must be telling. I love seeing the rabbits. I take the kids on nature walks all the time. I love how bunnies freeze and think we can't see them. Was that a mean defense mechanism to give them or what. Hello, we can see you. LOL!!
