Three Irish women are taking Ireland to the European Court of Human Rights over their country's laws on abortion.
The Irish Family Planning Association is supporting the case of the women, who have all had abortions in the UK within the past year.
The association estimates that 6,000 Irish women travel to the UK each year to have abortions.
Under Irish law, abortion remains illegal unless the mother's life would be in real danger without it.
The Irish Family Planning Association says it is campaigning to make abortion safe and legal in Ireland, and it will meet political leaders to discuss the matter over the next few weeks.
The three women, who have not been named, claim Ireland's laws violate articles within the European Convention on Human Rights, and that Irish law on abortion "jeopardises their health and well-being".
The campaign was criticised by groups opposed to abortion in what is a predominantly Roman Catholic country.
There have been some calls for a fresh referendum aimed at preventing the government from changing the law on abortion, although the government says it has no plans to introduce any legislation on what is a highly sensitive issue.

Dang...if I didn't need my Hoover I'd throw the sucker out...pun intended...:o[ You remind me of the guy in Massachusetts who wrote a comedy about The Diary of Anne Frank.
Can you tell me what is so funny about a Jewish girl who was the victim of the holocaust in World War II? I don't think it is very funny.

How can murder of an innocent person be "right"? Never!
I'd like to talk to those witches and tell them what damage they are doing to their immortal souls...but then, I ain't Catholic...on the other hand...maybe that's a good reason, huh?
I'm not a good Catholic myself - I believe in non-aborticient contraception, divorce when all possibilities are tried, sex before marriage is only natural, but even atheists believe abortion is murder!
I've looked for you Irish, but you've been late and I've been early. Or vice versa! LOL! Still, I think of you whenever I pull up a photo of the Emerald Isle.
I know, it's terrible, there are probably 9 hours between us, ah well I'll log on late as often as possible, and I'll take a look at your about page, honey

In regards to saying this:

My comment on that post was not off-subject -- the play was going to be performed as part of a
Planned Parenthood fundraiser in Rhode Island.
The Culture of Death is one sick puppy. Pope John Paul II made his first pronouncement about that a few years before and a few miles away from the high school where the Columbine shootings took place in Colorado.

I am trying to post things here to help discourage girls/women from having abortions. There are some other links that I may post about testimonials of girls/women who have had their abortions...
I was kind of surprised to find that the Silent No More Awareness organization was only formed in 2003.
Yet it is making a significant impact in the United States -- even in its infancy.

I hope EU doesn't make Ireland follow the dark side our unelected Supreme Court led us through.

"jeopardises their health and well-being"
Do the Irish laws on abortion jeopardize the health and well-being of these four women? Of course they don't. These bad actors are just pimping for publicity for a cause that has no shame. They wish to have abortion mills placed in every country, city & town in the world. I hope my Irish cousins and their countrymen have the guts to keep Ireland abortion free. Children are born to be free, not robbed of life by choice. The word abortion is too weak, the PC at work again. Tell it like it is: Murder Incorporated II.

Note that the very first right listed in the
European Convention on Human Rights is the right to life. Such irony.
Is your country required abide by the court's decision if it rules against you?

Those poor, poor woman who have to put some effort into killing their babies. I feel sooooooo sowwy for them. /sarcasm Yeah! Let's get a third party that has no relation to Irish government to bully the government and the people! *eye roll* I don't have much good to say about the Irish government or Roman Catholicism, but kudos to them for standing for the babies' right to life. :-)))))) The Irish Family Planning (to Kill Babies) Association can take a flying leap.

We may have to have *yet another* referendum, if the 'court' rules in favour of these bitches, but countries often ignore European court rulings.
