"Sandy Berger's Sentencing Postponed" Going easy on him, or waiting for the other shoe to drop?

Asked why Berger wasn't sentenced as scheduled on Friday, July 8, a Justice Department spokesman told NewsMax on Tuesday that Berger's sentencing has been postponed till September.
The spokesman declined to offer an explanation for the delay.
Repeated calls asking about the postponement to Berger's lawyer, Washington, D.C., attorney Lanny Breuer, went unreturned.
Federal District Court's U.S. Magistrate Deborah Robinson, who is presiding over the Berger case, also did not return a call inquiring about its disposition.
After Justice Department prosecutor Noel Hillman allowed Berger to plead guilty to a misdemeanor, he requested what some consider an extraordinarily light sentence given the gravity of the crime - a $10,000 fine, a three-year suspension of Berger's security clearance and no jail time.
The recommendation for leniency was in stark contrast with the comments of Deputy Attorney General James Comey, who suggested after the document theft story broke that Berger could be headed to jail.

He was the guy running around with his hair on fire.

Gee this is easy to figure out.... Buy a clue.
Copies of Ms. Deborah Robinson's and Noel Hillman's FBI file are in the hands of the Clinton machine. ;^)

Rush is referring to him as Sandy "Burglar". It will be interesting to see how sticky the name proves to be and whether it spreads. Can the Clinton's keep that many fingers in the dikes?

Phew! I was afraid you wouldn't take it in the vein I meant it.
Ya know, I don't believe Berger has been seen in public for quite some time. I wonder if he is in the Witness Protection Program?

....yet more proof that Free Republic is one of his main sources.

Whatever he stole must have been darn damaging to him and bubba! I still, CAN NOT believe we don't have photocopies of the documents he ripped off! The joint where all those top secret docs are stored seemed pretty lax to me, if you can just walk in there and stuff you panties with important for your eyes only documents! Unless, if he had inside help!
To: Pessimist
I still want to know what happened to all the material on the computer used by the dems on the Senate Judiciary Committee. A reference ther to Able Danger may have jogged Berger's (or some other scumbag theif) about a note on some other document and that's why Berger was stealing federal documents at that time.
As filthy and corrupt as these dems are, I don't understand why W refuses to see them as a risk. He should have purged the Clintonistas from day one and W's whole administration should have assumed that any former Clintonista would be doing just what Berger did and take steps, accordingly.

Me too. I cannot believe that these documents were not put on microfilm. How can a certain document be located unless the library has a system of microfilm similar to newspapers or courts. Something is wrong here. And never were anyone allowed to have access to the original documents. One can pay for a photocopy of the document, but hand originals out? What shit. I smell cover up and corruption a foot deep.

Yes, they must have been on coffee break ...didn't they have security cameras? Within industry this could not have happened, and on the outside chance it did, it would be detected immediately. Inside help . . . . .mmmmmm

I'm gonna repeat this rant until I'm blue in the face . . .
If this government can't deal with f#ckers like Berger and Gorelick for their rank incompetence and/or outright treason, then it has no business sending U.S. troops to fight a stupid "war on terror" halfway around the world.

I can't believe the security is so lax that there are no backup files; i.e., microfiche, scans, pdfs, whatever...and that once a file is stolen, it's gone forever.

Cameras is a Top Secret facility? You've got to be kidding they don't even let you bring a two way pager into those kind of places. Also, most of the people in there would have been too cowed to say anything just because of the position Sandy had in the Clinton Whitehouse, you think you're going to risk their job by saying, "excuse me Sandy but could you drop your pants so we can verify that bulge isn't some rolled up documents?"

If leftist Berger had been a conservative Republican caught in the act of stealing govetrnment secrets he would have been charged as a spy, as this Berger should.

Why Isn't Sandy Berger Going to Jail? National Ledger, AZ - Aug 7, 2005 ... While Berger will not be sentenced until July 8, government prosecutors have requested no jail time just a $10,000 fine and the temporary removal of his ... Well, if you do a google news search of berger+jail, you will see this link there. Looking at it now, it makes no sense. It's dated Aug 7 but speaks to something that will occur in the past ( July 8 ). I suggest you don't click on the link, it nearly wrecked my computer.
To: Pessimist
a three-year suspension of Berger's security clearance Suspension? Huh? Then he can go back and nose around in more TS stuff? Why do we even have security clearances?
And why does some clown with no position in government even get a security clearance in the first place?
The Twilight Zone looks like reality TV compared to this.
Republicans are as stupid as DIMs are corrupt.
