CRAWFORD RALLY TO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS LOCATION UPDATE

The Crawford Police have just notified me that our location for the Support the Troops rally has been changed.

Please congregate at the Crawford Civic Center, which is located in the 1000 block of East 4th Street.

Start time remains 12 Noon.

The new site is very near the first site we were assigned, so people going there by mistake should be able to see us and come on over.

Sorry about the last minute changes.

Unless of course you are a democrat with no sense of propriety. Then you can just set up on the side of the road anywhere you like, maybe even on other people's property, and they'll even let you bring out porta-potties.

Ain't America great.

The OWNER of the property across the street from Cindy's Sleepaway Camp has volunteered the use of his property for gatherings. While the official rally should remain where it is scheduled, I believe any private citizen can have as many people as they like on their own property to do whatever they want.

I thought since Cindy never got "permission" to use her site that a bunch of Bush supporters should have just gone and set up tents. Been polite, and chanted nice pro-bush slogans.

I imagine it wouldn't take long for the anti-bush folks to go nuts -- but it might be dangerous, since Cindy has said that if she starts hitting something she won't stop until its dead.

But seriously, if I lived anywhere near Crawford, I would be out bright and early tommorow morning AT CINDY'S CAMPSITE, with my pro-Bush signs and my smiling face and NO BAD THINGS TO SAY.

Sadly, if we had been able to surround Cindy when she had just a few of her buddies, it may have changed the story. But who knew the police would allow camping on the side of a road. You know, even the Boy Scouts have to get permits to camp on public property, and in a lot of places they aren't allowed.

Hey, maybe we should see if Cindy is doing any praying -- surely there's some ACLU guys we could send down to stop such going's on on public lands.

I really wish I could be there with you guys. It makes me sick seeing all those anti-american people on TV with no good guys right there with them.

Our local NBC affiliate (WRC-4) did a pretty balanced presentation of her tonight. They mentioned she had already seen the President. They showed a single clip where she said she was GLAD the President didn't just stop on the drive by and come up to shake her hand, because she wants a proper meeting. I wish I had a transcript, because I get a lot of people saying "why doesn't he just stop by and say high and listen for a minute, this could all be over".

We're coming in from Louisiana. I should be asleep. Too late for that now. I'm fixing to have to wake my hubby up. I'll sleep in the car.

I'll see what I can offer in the way of help to them.

Ch 11 just showed that lame brain in Crawford, waving a cross (with her handlers behind her) as the presidential caravan passed on the road. THEN they showed tons and TONS of people pouring off busses - coming in to counter the peaceniks! Tomorrow is going to be HUGE! This looks like a massive grassroots movement that will make those pinkos look like pikers, LOL!

Aw, man-oh-man. I'd give ANYTHING to be there! I'll be as close as Austin this weekend but it's for business. Be sure and ping me to the "After" thread. Let's hope they take a lot of photos!

We'll miss you, but know you're with us in spirit. You are inexorably linked with our Crawford memories, standing alone against all those hundreds of lefties that time, wondering if the rest of us were going to show up! That took REAL guts.

Prayers for you and your mom. Take care.

Where is this Sheehan lady camped out? How close is she to Bush's place? And is she on private property or something?

So many questions, so little time to sleep....

Just making one last attempt to set up some sort of carpool. I have 2 or 3 seats still left in my vehicle. I'm leaving from Fort Worth between 6:30 and 7:00 so I can get down there in time for Ankarlo's gig AND stick around for whatever happens after. All I ask is a few dollars to help with the cost of gas.

email me at hush.tx@gmail.com to get a seat.

Prefacing this post with the reminder that our rally is NOT about Cindy Sheehan, it's to SUPPORT OUR TROOPS and keep their morale UP, I'll try to answer your questions:

Where is this Sheehan lady camped out?
In a ditch somewhere.... Somewhere out towards the ranch, which is a ways from downtown Crawford. We are NOT going to be anywhere near her with our rally. This really isn't about her, it's about our troops.

How close is she to Bush's place?
Not anywhere NEAR as close as the media would like you to think, I'm sure. I've looked at pictures and tried to figure out which stretch of road she's on, but can't tell. I have a theory about where, but need to see firsthand to be sure. My guess is they're camped by the turnoff from the main road and not anywhere near the ranch, because it's a much higher visibility location. But that's just speculation on my part.

However, you may be interested to know that she's certainly MUCH closer to the ranch than the media is! When you see them doing their news standups from Crawford, the rustic shed and rusty farm implements in the background are NOT the Bush ranch, it's just someone's yard next door to the high school, a few blocks from downtown. The ranch is many miles away. The magic of television, LOL.

And is she on private property or something?
Good question, they keep saying she's in a ditch, so it may be the public right-of-way. Curious to see the situation, didn't know you could camp in the right-of-way. Perhaps in this case it's the left-of-way and the rules just don't apply. ;-)

So many questions, so little time to sleep....
Indeed! I'm off to get a few hours of zzz's. Thanks to everyone for their good wishes!

Also, if you read the reports carefully, you will find that a lot of times she isn't there, she is "resting" at the Crawford Peace House.

Like Lisa Simpson sneaking down out of the tree when nobody is looking. Unfortunately there are too many other groups there. It would be hilarious if she and her crew ran off to the peace house and when they got back there were a bunch of Bush supporters there instead.

I saw the news tonight and wherever they are there is a field-like clearing at least the size of a good-sized yard where they are standing. at least while the President drove by.
