WASHINGTON The federal commission that probed the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks was told twice about "Able Danger," a military intelligence unit that had identified Mohamed Atta and other hijackers a year before the attacks, a congressman close to the investigation said Wednesday.

There is no reason, other than cya, as to why pre-9/11 information concerning the hijackers did not make it into the report of the commission.
To: TexasCajun
It originally appeared that the 911 Commission was extraordinarily inept and predisposed to slant its findings in favor of clintoon to the detriment of the current administration. It now appears that only the second part of that statement is true. They were far from inept (well, the Pubs were inept).
The dems were actually very skilled in carrying out the true purpose of the Commission --which apparently was to obscure the fact that the clintonistas were in possession of ample information in advance of the plot, but the innate nature of the America-hating, criminal-loving left-wing dimocrats prevented any semblance of effective law enforcement in the matter.

It will take a sustained and significant effort to educate people on this blatant cover-up, because the MSM is already working feverishly to bury this story.

"It appears right now that the 911 commission engaged in deliberate whitewashing of the Gorelick/Clinton Wall.'Ummm...yep.
Boys and girls, can you say, "The Dems and GOP are in cahoots"??
Question: Exactly WHO "permitted" Sandy Berger to pilfer the classified information nobody's allowed to see?
To: mwl1
It will take a sustained and significant effort to educate people on this blatant cover-upFNC has the resources, and the story is at least as interesting as Natalie Holloway, AND BTW its critical to national security since Hillary wants to be president.
As I said - if Fox is interested in 'reporting while we decide' they should ram this story down the publics throats with at least as much energy & determination as the rest of the MSM devoted to, say, Iran Contra.

"To: XJarhead I heard a caller to WABC radio this morning. The John Gambling Show. She was from a family group and sounded as tho she was quite familiar with the Commission and the process. She stated that the information came into the committee thru Gorelick and one other and it was they who decided what information was forwarded to other members. 98 posted on 08/11/2005 1:27:55 PM EDT by OldFriend (MERCY TO THE GUILTY IS CRUELTY TO THE INNOCENT ~ Adam Smith) "I suspected that very thing yesterday. The old media is never going to report this straight. ever. Just as Rather never came clean even when cornered like a rat. That's the game they play. They can champion forgeries and when they're proven so... plead 'sloppiness'... a 'simple mistake'... 'no-harm-done'.
Harm HAS been done... and the MSM needs to made accountable.

What else didn't make it into the 911 report?I'm thinking that some evidence about Hussein's ties to Al-Qaeda were ignored too.

Congressman Weldon will be live on air with Michael Savage shortly.
