SUNRISE -- Police seized 2 ounces of marijuana at the home of Anthony Diotaiuto after shooting him 10 times, according to information on the drug raid released Tuesday.
Also Tuesday, while many friends and relatives of the 23-year-old bartender and student mourned him at a Davie funeral home, others appeared at a Sunrise City Commission meeting to demand an explanation for the fatal raid
"Do 2 ounces of marijuana constitute a death warrant?" asked Sunrise resident William de Larm, a friend of Diotaiuto's.

Believe? All I have to do is strap a holster on my hip and go walking downtown to find out how "oppressed" I am.
Thanks for nothing.

(Is that what you really think this is?)
Yes he/she or they do.
(Do you really think there is ~ANY~ reasonable comparison between this great country and Nazi government?)
Yes he/she or they do.
Down right frightening isn't it, and if thats not bad enough, they vote.
(Most people call that suicidal, not heroic.)
Yes they do.
It's like i died and went to DU hell. Hell you'd expect these kind of comments over there.

The WoD has used up any benefits JBTs might have accrued. The only independent verification that the SWAT team did not just want some trigger time is cooling on a slab. We are supposed to trust people who look at everyone who isn't carrying a "get out of jail free" badge as "them"?
The Blue Wall is too tall, and has been abused too much. I know too many bloodthirsty cops, and I challange you to cite 3 instances of JBTs who made a bad call in the last ten years, and shot someone who didn't deserve it.
C'mon, fair is fair...

I'm not the "moron" who thinks kicking in a persons door unannounced over vegetable matter should illicit a shower of rose petals from said homes inhabitants.
You know, I've come across grade school kids with better writing syntax than you. Must be that Maximum IQ requirement most PD's have been using. Can't have people bright enough to think for themselves on the Force.

Libertarians seem to act like liberals in the sense they'll take the side of the pothead over the police. Unless the police did something that wasn't mentioned in the article, I'll side with them first, every time.
In this day and age, how stupid do you have to be to carry any illegal drug, knowing how crazy the police act over it. Darwin award nominee.

No, we aren't nazi's,
yet. Ayn Rand was right, though. Everybody is now guilty of something. There are bs laws on the books which people disregard, continually. If you pick and choose the laws you follow, just what good is the law?
The more laws there are the less law there is. What laws do you disregard?

The thing is though that this would have never happened if the SWAT team hadn't have come to his home. They had a small time pot dealer here. They had a controlled buy so they had enough to convict him for delivery. They could have just picked him up at work and then sent officers over to search the home. Sending a team of guys with automatic weapons and ninja suits was unnecessary. One or two uniformed or plain clothed officers could have picked him up at work, without a big uproar. For that matter they could just execute the search warrant at his home while he was at work and then dropped by or called his work and asked him to turn himself in when he got off work. That may sound crazy but officers where I live often call people and tell them to turn themselves in. It's saves the defendant's the embarrassment of neighbors or coworkers seeing them taken away in cuffs, and it saves the cops from having to go out and make the arrest. This guy had two jobs, a house with a mortgage, and a mother there tying him to the area so he wasn't likely to run over a small time pot bust. These military style police tactics we are using more and more in this country are causing unnecessary deaths, sometimes to innocent people. We'll only see more of this the more they militarize police.

Perspective is important and there are NO inordinate numbers in any report which reflects a systematic abuse of police power. Many officers faithfully perform their duties with the highest degree of integrity through out their careers and anyone who challenges this Fact, is uninformed and has no credibility.

The police said there was a loaded gun in the house but they carry guns to plant as a matter of course so do not believe that either.Of course you can cite credible evidence for making this allegation in this specific case, right? Or do you subscribe to the belief that 'it isn't the evidence, but the seriousness of the charges that matter'?

Says even more about yours...
Good luck. You are gonna need it. Remeber, at Nuremburg "I was just following orders" was not a valid defense from prosecution.

The two biggest places I see support for drug rights are DU and the libertarians on here.Logical fallacy: guilt by association. Try harder to come up with some logic that will justify outlawing a naturally occuring plant less harmful than alcohol or tobacco.
