FAMILY OF FALLEN SOLDIER PLEADS: PLEASE STOP, CINDY! Thu Aug 11 2005 12:56:21 ET

The family of American soldier Casey Sheehan, who was killed in Iraq on April 4, 2004, has broken its silence and spoken out against his mother Cindy Sheehan's anti-war vigil against George Bush held outside the president's Crawford, Texas ranch.

The following email was received by the DRUDGE REPORT from Casey's aunt and godmother:

Our family has been so distressed by the recent activities of Cindy we are breaking our silence and we have collectively written a statement for release. Feel free to distribute it as you wish. Thanks Ð Cherie

In response to questions regarding the Cindy Sheehan/Crawford Texas issue: Sheehan Family Statement:

The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.

Sincerely,

Casey Sheehan's grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

Well I used to be in the Marine Corps from 1974 to 1976 when i was nineteen and it almost did not occur to me at the time signing an enlistment contract in the military just might be a risky thing i could get killed doing and if i did not like the prospects of this then i should have not joined the military.

Cindy sheenan is a fool because the ability of a us president to carry out effective foreign policy will not hampered by one personal tragedy and the left's exploitation of it .

The vietnam war is ancient history.

Look at the dates.

Cindy's son was a grown man who knew of the risks involved being in the military and he accepted the responsiblity of it.

It might been a different story if her son was drafted but the united states military has not had a draft since 1973.

GOD BLESS THEY FAMILY FOR SPEAKING OUT ON THIS. I FEEL SORRY FOR ALL WHO HAVE LOST LOVE ONE'S. THEY HAD A MAN WHO HAD LOST A BROTHER TODAY ON FOX NEWS AND HE SAID HE AND HIS FAMILY SUPPORTS THE PRESIDENT AND THE WAR. AND LOST OF HIS BROTHER ONLY MAKES THERE FAMILY STRONGER FOR THE WAR. HIS BROTHER WAS A MARINE. FOR EVERY ONE OF MRS. SHEEHAN THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF FAMILIES WHO SUPPORT THE WAR. THEY KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO ALL OF US. I SEND CONDOLENCES TO ALL WHO HAVE LOST LOVE ONE'S (THOSE WHO HAVE GOTTEN INJURED) AND ASK GOD TO BLESS THEM WITH THE BEST OUR COUNTRY HAS TO OFFER.

Exactly Sorcerer,

What if Casey, God rest his soul, had been killed in a training accident or other non combat accident that our valiant men and women face everyday just being in the military. We suffer casualties even in times of no warfare due to working with machines and things that go boom.

Would that be GW's fault?

grrr

Sorry, I was so mad that I didn't notice the name "Casey" instead of "Cindy." I stand corrected.

I agree, it's really too bad that the MSM acts as an "emeny of the state", solely because of their disdainb for our President.

WW11 would have been a LOST CAUSE if we had the same media we have today.

We have always been on separate sides of the fence politically and I have not spoken to them since the elections when they supported the man who is responsible for Casey's death.

So haven't spoken to them for a decade, then. That's the last time Clinton was on the ballot.

The thing that matters to me is that my family: Casey's dad and my other 3 kids are on the same side of the fence that I am.

Yeah, that's what is most important. Except you said that one of your daughter's is drinking and partying too much(your words, Ms. Sheehan), and your husband is separated from you because he doesn't agree with your activities (your words, Ms. Sheehan) and you've lost all of your former friends (your words, Ms Sheehan).

I listened to John Ziegler read this letter on his show last night before I went to sleep. Did my heart good. Rest in peace, hero Casey.

President allready met with her and she previously said that he "comforted her". She changed her tune later after getting "advice" from extreme liberals..... This is what I gather from all the news threads. IMHO.

"And isn't there some speculation that Clinton's weak-kneed response emboldened Osama to plan and carry out 9-11?"

A lot more than speculation, the FIRST World Trade Center attack occurred on Clinton's watch, things were treated as criminal acts, even though Al Quaida had openly and verbaly declared WAR ON US!

This is an exceptional move on the part of the family. Casey is, no doubt, proud of his family and disappointed with his mother.

A GI who volunteers goes into battle knowing exactly what's on the line. I imagine Casey died with no regrets and proud of his service. The wacko left can't handle the fact that that type of person represents a majority in the U.S. of voting age and that they are a party of history past.

I heard about it several hours ago on a local news radio station that carries ABC and CNN news. It's good.

Somehow you DUmmies don't seem to get it. She can say whatever she wants and guess what, we get to say whatever we want. Now if you want to support a lying POS woman who is pissing on her sons grave, feel free. We're going to make sure he, along with all the other fallen heroes, are honored the way they deserve to be. Don't like it tough. I don't believe you give a rats rear end that this young man is dead, nor do you care about the rest of our soldiers who are fighting for your freedom to be an idiot, but we do.

Amazing how you just found this website today, & signed up just to post this.

We do honor her son's sacrifice, but his mother's spitting on it demeans it. Every military mother I've seen on this site is outraged by her behavior. The most charitable conclusion I can draw is that Mrs. Sheehan is literally mad with grief. I'm not normally real big on psychology/psychiatry - I think most people can get sufficient help from their family, friends, and pastors, but this woman is beyond amateur assistance - she needs professional help. I truly hope she gets it.

First of all I happen to be the mother of a Marine who fought in this war, so you don't know anything about me. This woman is hurting our men and women who are fighting in this war and I won't stand for it. It's time for her to stop the "everything is about me" crap. If you want to believe she is "grieving" than feel free. I don't. She is allowing herself to be used, for the attention, by a bunch of anti-american, anti-military, commie Pikos. Again, if you want to support that, feel free.

I don't care about your pedigree, I'm sure most of us could match it. By the way, why wait to be called up. If you love this country so much, join and go over there now. Why wait?
