Here is a new documentary on 9/11 on National Geographic. Promo video on website.
I saw some of the promos on TV. I enjoy watching many of their programs and hope that this will be good too.
I wonder if it will include the emerging evidence that the Clinton Administration ignored intelligence that would have prevented 9/11?
Can anyone say Able-Danger?
Given the political bent NG has been flogging the last 20 years or so, I expect Bush will be faulted for allowing the terrorists to commit Global Warming.
They come across as neutal to me.
Increasingly Lib.
What's your opinion of NG, newb??
Don't forget that Peter Arnett was working for National Geographic when he went on Iraqi Televison early in the war and made the treasonous statements about the "failed US war effort". Although, I do give them credit for firing the traitor.
I haven't watched the television channel much but from looking through the website looks like the have some pretty interesting interviews. I'm always a little wary about these 9/11 docs attacking dubya, but can't get a good read from the promo...
Good catch, didn't notice that. This may get interesting.
Good answer! =)
IMHO, this is an anti-Bush piece.
One of NG's more galling tendencies in recent years has been the glorification of "radical" sports (BASE jumping, etc.), while condemning the Capitalization thereof.
In other words, "It's fine for our reporters and intrepid photographers to jump off El Capitan, but don't you dare try charging money for others to do this! Bad for the Environment, you know."
BIG CLUE:
Go to "Gallery"
The first pic is a memo to Condi Rice from Richard Clarks(Remember him--at 9-11 commission, doing an " I told you so " sermon), stating that Al-Quiada is not a splinter group.
NatlGeo is a Commie-Lib group anymore. I ceased my subscription to both the National Geographic and their outdeoor type mag " Adventure"
In looking at the Memo, does it look like it came off of a typewriter rather than a computer? I mean, look at the spacing of the letter "i" in various places. Did/do they use typewriters and not computers?
BTW, I cancelled my NG subscription several years ago because I got sick and tired of their environmentalist wacko slant on most things.
I plan to watch it even though I have no clue if there will be a "slant" to it. Most programs I've seen like this that were broadcast on NG were quite neutral.
On a related note of interest, the Discovery Channel will air a program on the anniversary of 9/11 called "The Flight That Fought Back," which will detail what happened (to the extent its known) on Flight 93. Could be interesting and I plan to catch that one also.
