9/11 Widows 'Horrified' at Intelligence Blunder
NewsMax ^ | August 11, 2005 | Carl Limbacher & Newsmax Staff

A group of 9/11 widows say they are "horrified" over reports that the 9/11 Commission ignored evidence that the Clinton administration had identified the two 9/11 hijackers who destroyed the World Trade Center as terrorist threats two years before the attack.

"We are horrified to learn . . . . that the 9/11 Commission failed to fully investigate all of the facts and circumstances surrounding the 9/11 attacks," the group Sept. 11 Advocates said in a statement late Wednesday.

A separate group of 9/11 widows, known as "the Jersey Girls," is also expressing outrage over the 9/11 Commission's decision to ignore testimony that military intelligence had identified Mohamed Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi in 1999 as terrorist threats operating inside the U.S. - but was ordered not to share the information with the FBI.

"This calls into question the credibility of the [9/11 Commission] report because this is not an insignificant piece of information," Kristen Breitweiser told the Asbury Park Press.

"The idea we didn't know this is quite disturbing," she added.

"People have been led to believe that the hijackers were in the country undetected, but this information shows that is not true," said fellow Jersey Girl Mindy Kleinberg.

"Now the truth is our intelligence agencies did not fail," Kleinberg told the Press. "They were tracking them. Now the question is why did we perpetrate that myth and why were we not able to unravel the plot, especially in light of the fact that we had Mohamed Atta in our sights."

Rep. Curt Weldon, who first revealed the 9/11 intelligence blunder on Monday, blamed the "firewall" erected by the Clinton Justice Department that prevented sharing intelligence with law enforcement.

"There was no reason not to share this information with the FBI," he complained in a radio interview Wednesday night, "except that the firewalls that existed back then were so severe that they wouldn't let these agencies talk to one another."

So are they going to camp out on Clintoon's doorstep now?

Hell no!
You'll notice that they are attacking the Commission analyzing the mass murder (Bush).

Not the administration that screwed the pooch (Clintoon)!

But Berger is supposed to lose his for only three years.

all bets are off. His sentencing is postponed, so there's time to get more dirt on him.

It's gonna get hot in his kitchen.

Can you Photoshop the yellow stickie with the following message? Post-It note should read:

"CAUTION, THIS MEMBER OF THE JAMIE GORELICK TERRORIST PROTECTION PROGRAM MUST NOT BE DISTURBED!"

Geebus! That's quite a list.

"5. Suzanne Coleman Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was Arkansas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head; ruled a suicide. Was pregnant at the time of her death."

I've never heard of anyone committing suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head. And all those plane crashes. Democrats must be the worlds worst pilots.

I wonder why no reporters have sought out the lovely Ms. Gorelick to get her spin on this?

I believe former Senator Inofe (R-OK), a private pilot, while still a senator and a vocal critic of Clinton was flying over the state (1999?) and his propeller fell off!!!! Clinton black ops, perhaps? Inofe was a good pilot, and, thank the Lord, he was able to land.

Bingo!

My attitude with respect to 9/11 intelligence failures has been "find the problem, fix the problem, worry about blame later." I still wish we could do that.

But it's become a political football and the official report appears to contain a major omission, so there we are.

I trust the Republicans much more than I trust the Democrats on national security.

But I fear that, still to this day, no one is doing enough.

What an absolute sin. I am pretty sure that if such a failure could have been as squarely pinned on the Bush administration the MSM would be crucifying him right now.

Some have suggested that the Feds under Clinton went easy on Ata and his fellow punks (and others like him) because they didn't want more criticism as had occurred after Waco.

A real leader does what's right without constantly consulting the polls.

Sadly, it expresses perfectly the effects of liberals running national security.........

Rubbish. The government ignored them because they were politically correct immigrants, plain and simple. If they had looked more like Timothy McVeigh, they would have been taken down in a heartbeat.

Terrorists hit the Twin Towers in 1993. It was treated as a Minor Event by the Clinton Administration because only a couple people died.

The Security of the People of the United States never changed. There was no change in airport security....which is how Yosef and the 9-11 terrorists got here. It was all about building a legacy of peace and prosperity. The Polls said he did a good job.

But history will name him as the worst (and depraved) President in the history of the United States.

Yup. No doubt which side wins in her head.

I'm sure they're working on the spin to blame Bush.
