Anti-War Mom: Another Ignorant Cow
Phil Hendrie ^ | August 10, 2005 | Phil Hendrie

Posted on 08/11/2005 6:55:57 AM PDT by WackySam

Casey Sheehan was a re-enlistee with the Army's 1st Cavalry. He knew he was going to fight. He understood that. He embraced it. He fought like a soldier. And like a soldier he died, killed in April of 2004, in Sadr City, Iraq.

Casey's mom, Cindy, doesn't quite get it. She is a mother who has lost her son to a war. Convinced she knows more about the costs of war than other parents who've suffered similar loss, she has parked herself outside President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas. Full of judgment and hate, calling him "selected," not elected, blaming him personally for the death of her son, this clueless woman is going to sit there until the President comes out. She's going to set him straight.

Cindy Sheehan is another bereaved parent that the anti-Iraq War movement has run its game on. Manipulating her in her sadness and anger, they've created a self-righteous ignoramus. Casey Sheehan was cut down by foreign insurgents, the same Saudi-Iranian-Syrian animals that carved up Nick Berg. But to Cindy, the man who killed her son is George Bush. Cindy believes Bush lied about our reasons for going to war and thus led her son to his death through outright deceit.

The "Bush Lied" theory has been debated and discredited but Anti-War Mom hasn't noticed. Cindy Sheehan isn't outside the Bush ranch as a truth-seeker. She's there for her public-relations potency. "I want people to know the real costs of war," she says. A mother grieving her loss. The inhumanity of war. Oh, the wickedness of it all. It's the anti-Iraq War Propaganda Machine working the sewer again.

The philosophy of the September 10th movement can be boiled down to this: "If we hadn't started anything....... then nothing would have started." Like a parent encouraging a child to avoid bullies by walking 2 blocks out of the way, the September 10th movement believes that avoidance and non-engagement would have been the way to avert 9/11, the Gulf War, Beirut...maybe even World War Two. Since that didn't happen, the anti-Iraq war Poseurs set out to revise history so they can shore up politically. "Clinton had nothing to do with any of this. It was all Bush and he (just to add a touch of true malevolence) LIED!!" No proof is offered of course. Proof means truth. And the truth is this war was unavoidable, brought on by an historic clash of culture and ideal, powered by the American people themselves, rising to meet the future, pissing off the rag heads.

Anti-War Mom raised her children in the American culture of struggle, progress, success and failure. Like many, she refused to take ownership of her government, preferring the platitude of loving her country. No people own their government more than the American people. And no other people in the world more strenuously disassociate from it when the going gets tough. And the going is always the toughest when times are good and war arrives. For Cindy Sheehan and millions of other moms the inconvenience of this could not be overstated. While she was busy chasing the good life, made possible by the millions of backstairs deals cut globally everyday through American corporations and politicians (not to mention enforced by an international security apparatus) her good life was coming up against other considerations authored in the caves of Pakistan.

At first, since it was a question of country, not government, Anti-War Mom supported the war although her loyalty to one and not the other began to impede her ability to understand things clearly. When news arrived of her sons death, her tenuous line to reality snapped. Not only was she not at all responsible for her government, she didn't much like the country either, lecturing her fellow citizens on the costs of war, arrogant in the depths of her ignorance about the prices others have paid.

Anti-War Mom might be powerful had she any ideas of her own. But since she is a mouth-piece for the September 10th movement her guns are empty. The Anti-War movement in America continues to lack anything approaching ideas or answers. But it does encourage Anti-War Mom to live in the past. It's where her son lives, they tell her. So she joins the other wayfarers in the desert, nomads whose camels follow the camel ahead, all going in a circle.

It would be interesting to hear a tape of her exchanges with her son since they undoubtably discussed his re-enlistment, mission and career.

My thinking would be to surround her with hundreds of signs honoring her son, his loyalty and devotion to the nation and its mission in the ME. All, of course, would contrast with this lying, pathetic and hate filled tool of the left.

Anti-War Mom: Another Ignorant Cow

She's standing out in a field; making incoherent, nonsensical bellowing noises; and is (more often than not) full of bull.

Yeah... "cow" fits pretty well, I'd say. :)

I agree with you. "Ignorant cow" is beyond the pale.

If she wasn't a publicity hound spewing hatred, I would agree. But she has brought on any criticism she receives.

No thanks. For Cindy, I'll stick to "ignorant cow." In a more civil society, we'd toss her ass in jail for giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

However, let's not be too hard on Cindy, because what you are hearing is her pain speaking, and so in spite of everything she says let us honor Casey by not stooping low and calling his mother names. We can fight what she is saying and those behind this nonsense, but let's give her room.

Damn, I hate to start up with you again, but you are wrong, wrong, wrong.

That is not 'pain' speaking, it is ignorance, stupidity and dishonor speaking. This woman is nothing but a tool. She dishonors her son through her willingness to be led around through the nose by the Micheal Moore crowd. All she is getting is a little fame and lionization by the MSM, while her son spins in his grave for the shame of it.

When heroes die, their deaths should not be disgraced by acts that harm the legacy of those who gave all for their country. I know you mean well, but consider the larger impact of these acts on history, before 'giving room' to a nutty left-wing loser with nothing better to do than hold a pity-party in view of all those who hate America. This woman deserves nothing more than a swift kick in the ass.

I feel for her loss, but it's high time she realized she is pissing on the graves of those who have fought and died defending America, and the cause of Freedom. (including her son's grave)

Those honorable and brave souls from the current generation who have fought and died have done no more than the many previous generations of Americans who have answered the Call to Duty, and have done what had to be done to defend America.

The people that bitch and complain about the loss are the worst products of the selfish culture of Today - where it's all about "ME". They dishonor the very sacrifices made by others that keep them free.

The real pity is not the loss of life, but moreso the crowd that gathers to dishonor the sacrifice.

The thing Cindy Sheehan seems to lose sight of is that her son joined the military VOLUNTARILY, knowing he may see war some day. My husband is on active duty and also spent his time in Iraq and several other places. While I am not pro- or anti-war, we both know when he leaves he may not necessarily be coming home. That is the price he is willing to pay for his country. Cindy Sheehan was probably extremely proud of the service her son was doing to her country until he died. Unfortunately, the cost of war is lives. She should be showing her support to other families who have lost loved ones instead of barking up a tree that doesn't care what she has to say.

Agreed. Too bad she doesn't have any real friends.

Sorry, but on this one you are wrong. Visit her web site and read her letter to "George". She is and has been a far leftist, as her socialist and anti-American links demonstrate. She has committed the worst of all travesties; she has used the death of her son for nothing but political purposes. Calling President Bush the "Re-defeated president" proves her true motivations. I have met and listened to pain speaking, and believe me, the only pain I hear from this woman is the pain of having to live in a non-socialist country. No kudos to her, she is a traitor.

Good morning.
"Notice her husband is nowhere to be found."

Cindy's entire family can be found on Michael Moore's website. Moore and the rest of the America hating anti war types are milking them for every drop of bile they can suck out of them.

Don't worry about going on Moore's site. A hot shower with lots of soap will get rid of the stink.

Sorry to disagree but IMO Cindy is acting out of anger, not pain. Pain wouldn't exploit her son's sacrifice, which was his to give for his country. I have read that she was against her son going into the service and he CHOSE to go anyway. She already was an anti war sympathizer and her politics seem to have pulled ahead of her loudly proclaimed grief. Her son is being dishonored and his former comrades put in more danger by her exploitive anti-war activities. I also think that Pres Bush is in serious danger of physical attack from Sheehan and others in her group. He should not get anywhere near them.

"what you are hearing is her pain speaking....let's give her room."

You are right of course.....if we witnessed a gold star mother having a stroke or a heart attack a year after losing that child, we would rush to help her and it would be easy to be compassionate and understanding.

It's not so easy to see what's happening in a tortured and tormented mind...........we see her smile & then break down in tears. We hear her change her position, her memories and we watch in disgust as others exploit her for their political agenda. It's hard to be sympathetic when she is lashing out in such an irrational manner.

Unfortunately, it looks like Cindy has isolated herself from her family, her neighbors, Casey's friends in the military....in short, from everyone who could help her. These are the people whose hearts must be breaking to see her carrying around that toddler picture of her boy.

I hope if anyone does go to Crawford to counter her, they will, in your words:

"honor Casey by not stooping low and calling his mother names"

Where to begin, with the crap that is post #31?

You call your boy naive. Were you a Marine? If not, shut up.

What you don't understand, is that when you wake up each day, and go about your business without even having to consider that you are free to do so, you have already committed yourself to America.

The fact that you are free to type on your computer without dodging bombs and bullets means you are already committed to America. People with your point of view disgust me, because you think that everything you have is somehow just FREE. It aint free, dear. Somebody paid for it. LOTS of good men and women PAID for it, and will continue to do so. Your son might just be one of them, and it is arrogant of you to think that you have anything to say about it. Your son is not your property any more than he is your nation's property.

We have a volunteer Military. I think your son would tell you that it is an HONOR to be a Marine, not a sacrifice. I think he would tell you to shut up, if you believe that the loss of your son would somehow mean more than the freedom that we all enjoy, and SOME of us appreciate.

One of you is naive, but it aint your boy.

"And please don't say that this right is what our young men are dying for. That right and Iraq have absolutely NO commonality.

It's sad that you can't see the larger picture. The ONLY way this stuff is ever going to stop is by dragging 12th century Islamic thinking into the 21st century. Iraq provided an opportunity to gain a foothold in a region desperately in need of transformation (which the UN ignored, I may add). This is what happened to Japan, Germany, and other countries around the world who previously viewed violence and conquest as a way to achieve their goals. Only this tim it is worse, with more at stake, because while our enemies in WW2 were driven by nationalism, this time they are driven by religion, and because of it, they will never stop uinless made to. The best way to stop them is to create democratic and free societies with the free exchange of commerce, information, and personal ownership. They will only stop when they have more to lose than they have to gain by blowing the crap out of everyone with whom they disagree. Democracies generally don't kill each other.

To think that Iraq is not tied to the war on terror is myopic at best, and represents the worst in isolationist thinking which led to the tragedies of WW2 in the first place.

What, exactly, is it about radical Islamists which leads you to believe that if we just leave them alone, they'll ignore us?

"let's give her room". I agree with most of your statement, but how much room does one give one who is destroying others in her grief? Sheis being manipulated by others and refuses to see what she is doing is also destroying her son's memory. It's not okay to call others names and outright lie to defend her anger/hate/blame because her son died. Her acussations are out of line, probably not even her words, but they are still spoken and used to undermine the good that all of our soldiers.
