What is a disgrace is the use of the term "ignorant cow" to describe anyone's mother.

I see that you signed up today to set aside this special time to humiliate yourself in public. She placed herself into the arena of public comment by inviting this debate. Her words and deeds are counter to those her son fought and died for. What about her DISHONOR of her son?

That is not 'pain' speaking, it is ignorance, stupidity and dishonor speaking. This woman is nothing but a tool. She dishonors her son through her willingness to be led around through the nose by the Micheal Moore crowd. All she is getting is a little fame and lionization by the MSM, while her son spins in his grave for the shame of it.

I fully agree with you she's a tool of Michael Moore and his hate filled stooges, and I hate everything for which they stand. Granted she is showing ignorance, stupidity, and is dishonoring her son. It is pain speaking. However, attack her message and those behind it, but let's not stoop to calling her names.

When heroes die, their deaths should not be disgraced by acts that harm the legacy of those who gave all for their country. I know you mean well, but consider the larger impact of these acts on history, before 'giving room' to a nutty left-wing loser with nothing better to do than hold a pity-party in view of all those who hate America. This woman deserves nothing more than a swift kick in the ass.

I have served on burial details for my Special Forces buddies coming home from Nam, and sat on the first row when they sang or played The Ballard of the Green Berets. Not a one of us could hold back the tears. I force myself to walk the Wall every time I go to D.C. to honor their memory, and I have been fighting the left for years. Please don't give me the hero talk, because I have fought with and buried the best of the best. I caught all of the crap that was heaped on Vietnam Vets, and I hated ever insult and action my fellow veterans received. I live in Kansas City, and am only sorry I was not with the individual who spat on Jane Fonda. That said, I have seen many families suffer pain at the loss of their loved ones, and I will not dishonor fellow veterans by calling their families names.

Sheehan IS different....but I think you really know that. Expressing grief specifically by spewing every cliched leftist talking point seems like an awfully strange way to express grief. What does calling Bush "selected" have to do specifically with the war? She's not expressing grief; she's expressing her RABID LEFTIST HATE. Anyone who thinks this woman WASN'T a kook leftist before the war is naive....and now she has taken the opportunity to exploit her son's death in order to obtain the lofty position of liberal sainthood.

In my world, if you wore the uniform, that is enough for me. Just taking the act of putting yourself in a position to die for your country is enough. We don't need to list every little (or big) thing we did for it to matter. I left MUCH off the old post myself for the same reason you claimed.

I don't feel the need to describe the various, violent and tragic ways I have witnessed death or its aftermath, the effects those events have on families and friends alike to know that 'Ignorant Cow' is not such a poor way to describe this woman, and her actions. I would rather consider how her son would feel were he here to comment.

In that respect, I don't see the invective too far from the mark. I think her son would call her worse things.
