It was really ugly wasn't it? I'm sure they'll do better in NY. </ sarc>

I actually felt for the Ranger position players last night. They fought to get back into the game and then watched their bullpen just fall apart.

To their credit they did have a Zell Miller segment, who has become one of my most respected Americans.

***

Dang! I missed that. I love to watch Mr. Miller any time he's on anywhere. A true patriot, and he tells it like it is.

Fox News -- All Aruba All the Time! Jeesh, and I thought they went overboard on Chandra Levy.

Please don't take offense but FOX news has been doing this literally forever.

I started working from home in 2002 and keep the TV on and tuned to FNC while I'm working. From day one every 10 minutes was a "Fox News Alert".

I now ignore them completely. Because if it really IS important they'll have another FOX NEWS ALERT in a couple minutes.

I'm actually giving Rita Cosby a chance.

Not me...not since I witnessed her hideous on-camera "orgasm" during the 2000 election coverage, when she announced Al Gore would be our next president.........

I thought she was about to do a gymnastic dismount.....Of course she was wrong....

That image of her is burned in my mind...not to mention her loving on-air glances at Jerry Rivers.....

It's been for longer than just this summer. Every time a Natalee Holloway relative sneezes, we get "the gong." At this point, I no longer pay attention to these "alerts." Crying wolf is a good way to describe it.

For years and years the fans and sports columnists down here have been screaming at the Ranger management to get some pitching but no one listens. Our latest trade of Chan Ho Park for Phil Nevin was brainless. Park isn't the best in the world but he was showing some improvement. His place in the rotation was taken by CJ Wilson, a rookie who is in no way ready for the bigs.

Just wait till next year. :o)

I am tired of this whole Aruba thing myself. No progress or leads in the case, nothing new happening and yet, we get to hear it about it all day, every day on FNC.

I thought it was just me with the news alerts. I kept watching and waiting for something new and breaking to come on each time, and it was just a rehash of the other stuff they will be talking about in 15 minutes anyway.

Stale barely describes it. I can recite the scripts for both sides every time they stage another right v. left "debate." Or I could if I watched. I'm finding that lately, my time is much better spent catching up on my reading, or if I really want to veg-out in front of the teevee, I'll just watch the DIY or HGTV channels. H&C neither inform not entertain lately.

Let major news like the explosion in the Detroit area or the bombings in Egypt occur, and there is NO BREAKING NEWS ALERT on Fox because they happen at night.

Fox News is more interested in Michael Jackson, Aruba, and any other sensational case rather bringing real news IMHO -- especially at night.

I wouldn't give you two cents for any of the cable news today. Waste of time just like the MSM. Give me the Internet and FR where you actually get breaking news from around the Country and World with facts not spin.

Here locally, a couple of years ago, a little girl's cat crawled out of an upper bedroom window and onto a porch roof. Her father, wanting to be a hero to his little girl, climbed out to the porch roof to rescue cat, but he slipped and wound up dangling from the roof. Family had to call the fire department to get him down. Meanwhile, the cat nonchalantly walked back into the bedroom window. :)

Lots of us have become disenchanted with FNC. But then they do serious investigating of the Oil for Food scandal.

And there is no one who can even approach Brit Hume for gravitas....

So those occasional moments make up for FNC becoming The National Enquirer, or The Jerry Springer Show.

I'm with you. Special Report is the only show on Fox that I care to watch. I always turn to another channel when it is over because I can't quite gut Shep Smith. I don't know what it is about that guy, but he gives me a headache!

It's hard to blame Showalter. He can only give the ball to the lousy arms he has.

It is very predictable. The guests usually just repeat the DNC and RNC talking points.

Too many of their "news alerts" are to tell us there is no more real news from Aruba, although they frame it somewhat differently.

***Another gripe: Since when did Hannity and Colmes stop being a debate show and start being Greta-lite? It seems that 2/3 of the show is devoted to stories like Natalee Holloway***

Amen.

FNC is hitting bottom. It's almost like "this" now......

FOX News Alert
"Today, Natalee Holloway's mother had a bowel movement.
They'll be an exclusive interview with her about that on Hannity and Colmes."

It's beyond pathetic and reaching pathological. Even O'Reilly is doing 'updates' now and I can't take it. As soon as I hear "Holloway" my remote goes into warp drive. It's sooooo bad, I'll even watch 'Road House' for the 97th time on Spike TV just to get away from it.

I usually switch over to the History Channel when H&C comes on. Last night, I was out of luck though. History Channel's Modern Marvels was tracing the history of machine lubrication. That was just a little too much for me, so I watched last Tuesday's episode of Rescue Me, which is always entertaining.
