Was he in a position of some authority in a sensitive job.....or with something like the 862nd Shoe Repair Battalion? Either way it is frightening. And for the record I am an AF Vet and WAS in something akin to the Shoe Repair Battalion (Engineering Entomologist)

The AF will not become involved with civilian authorties. It is they who would impose a minor crime punishment. The colonel could not receive a bad paper or any sort of discharge or release from active duty by an Art.15. Non judicial punishment would be the most that would be possible for the civilian misdemeanor. You don't put people in jail or destroy their lives and careers for a stupid, non-injurious minor crime against property.

Maybe you ought to go and represent him? That is why the military is so screwed up; because he is an officer you would let him off with a slap on the hand. Had he been an enlisted person you would be all up in arms to have them thrown into Leavenworth for 20 years.
